2B 1.6?

Hi,

Found this on eBay http://item.mobileweb.ebay.co.uk/viewitem?itemId=251437767426

A 2B in Washington registered and ready. Only got a 1.6 ohc engine.

 

How big a job is it to shoehorn in a 2l pinto or other fun alternatives?

 

Quandry time, gamble on an unfinished tiger for the fun of building it or plump for the unknown 2b that's ready to go and tweak it.

Very similar money, but would the tiger be a better package in the end, even though it would end up costing more?

Ready done, summer fun, and all winter to upgrade, no brainer IMHO.

looks like a good one to me, use it as a 1.6 this season find a 2.0 over the season and swap it next winter, fair price if its correctly registered and tidy, also the favoured wishbone model.

Better still looks like dummy struts are longer so better geometry than standard wishbone

I agree its the sensible option.

I would like the satisfaction of the self build but am aware it could get frustrating and potentially expensive.

I do wonder why the milage of the 2b is so low and why it didn't sell before.

but it does look good.

Mileage is a funny thing, I think we use ours a fair amount but in 10 years we have only done 10K and that includes 3 trips into Europe from trips through to the Ring in Germany, Lemans and a tour of all the Somme battle fields, others do that mileage most years.

We only tax for 6 months so low miles is not to be worried about.
