Iva And Mirrors

What have people done if putting through IVA without a windscreeen or Aero screen with the mirrors? Simon at GBS says he has a special set that go into the scuttle holes and have long arms to give you a view of the rear arches.

I just used largish bike mirrors bolted to scuttle bend

Passed ok and holes covered when I fitted the screen

Fitted mine to the scuttle no issues during IVA. I have measured against another Zero with a screen so the hole will be covered later.

Thanks that helps, do you need a centre mirror for IVA?

Yes, centre mirror is a requirement unless it doesn't do anything, i.e. Single seaters

Two mirrors are required for IVA, centre & driver's side ; OR if centre does not meet field of view requirements ; 2 "wing " mirrors that do. Fit all 3 & trust they are correct, gives you best option. IMO

Also, if you have gone with the GBS wing mirrors, cover the adjusting nuts, these were classed as a sharp edge on my IVA at Derby, however Nottingham (who GBS use) don't pick them up.

Er, they (Nottingham) picked up on mine when I had mine done, so don't count on that. (He did have some spare covers though - which was nice )

 

Also, the point about putting a large washer from scrap ally inside the scuttle helps stop the mirrors from shaking too much.

What centre mirror is recommend for iva when no screen is fitted. There are a few around but which is most iva friendly?
