Type 9 Electronic Speedo

Evening all just been looking into how Was best to run my electronic speedo. After having a good luck at the box tonight am I correct in thinking I have an electronic speedo output already as well as the cable?

Is that not the reverse light switch?

It has 3 wires coming out of it. That last pic is from under the box still have panels out so can get in. I thought the reverse switch was on the drivers side just in front of the lever?

Second pic looks like the speedo cable bottom right.

think type 9 only has mechanical speedo mt75 has both

CBS do a electronic drive that goes in the end of the speedo cable I have just fitted one works a treat just secured it behind dash board

That may certainly be the way forward. How could I tell the difference between a type 9 and mt75?

mt75 has a fixed bell housing and remote gear linkage looks very different to type9

from what I can see in your picture that is not a mt75

Reverse is selected back from 5th on MT75.

Reverse is hard left and forward on type 9

Yes. That's an electronic speedo pickup. A hall effect unit on the opposite end of the speedo drive gear to the cable drive. Works fine on my car but mine doesn't look quite the same. 3 wires. Brown (earth), black/red(12v) and brown/yellow(signal) on mine. And obviously a type 9 or earlier box.

Fantastic I'll have to confirm the wire colours tomorrow but i think mine has 2 brown and a black but I'll have a check.
