I have a set of Carbon half doors to fit on the Exmo and was just wondering if anyone has come across (or has any information) of half doors being fitted using hinges so they can be opened / closed to get in and out of the car.

All the ones I've seen have the half doors bolted rigidly to the car and so you have to step over the doors to get in/out of the car.

Would normal seven tape hinges do if riveted to side panel?

Having said that I don't know if your scuttle lifts with bonnet or is fixed like my 2b.

The scuttle is fixed, however if you fixed hinges directly to the door, then the hinge-line would be at a funny angle meaning when you open the door, the path that the door sweeps through is not very good.

I'm thinking it needs a light-weight subframe inside the door so you can get a better angle for it to hinge out on but just wondered if anyone else had (or seen) a way to tackle this problem....
