Tiger Era Sump And Blacktop Zetec

Has anyone else got this combination? I've just fitted mine and I'm a little concerned as the sump is so shallow that the flywheel is 5-10mm lower than the sump:

Anyone had this and just left it or done anything about it?

Not a Zetec, but I have an SBD sump on a Vauxhall redtop & that's just the same.

 

Just beware road humps.....or maybe a small skid plate?

Defo a smal skid plate.

Puncturing a sump is one thing.

Bending a crankshaft is completely different.

Probably engine write off.

Not only that but also I'll get loads of road crud potentially flying up into the bell housing, no?

Spoke to Tiger this morning and this is normal. They recommend making up a blanking plate to stop crud getting in but they say they haven't had anyone take out their gearbox yet. I might make a skid plate as well...

Apologies, not trying to "hijack" the thread. Tractor, what gasket did you use on the Dunne Engineering sump please

http://www.ebay.co.uk/usr/fastgaskets2000?_trksid=p2057872.m2749.l2754 I bought some neoprene foam off ebay it does come with the sump I made sure I butted the ends tight and dubbed the joints with instant gasket then smeared a thin layer all over neoprene it has never leaked

if you are re using original sump bolts they will need cutting down and put some instant gasket around the bolt holes before you bolt up

I did it by keeping the sump in place by jacking the sump into place this way I could get it tight then put instant gasket around blot holes
