Only if your insurers insist on you having one.

Most likely if you go for agreed value.

I've got agreed value and just declared no immobiliser or other security when I insured it.

I have a removable stearing wheel,stearing lock, battery key and after that if they can figure out how to start it good luck

Just to let you know that we haven't ever come across any real issues regarding theft on kit cars.

 

As per some of the comments, yes we would ask for security on certain higher value models or cars that are not garaged in higher risk areas etc.

 

In most cases they are kept garaged.
