2.0 Pinto Coolant Leak From Head Gasket

If you have given another 45 degree turn to an already bottomed out stretch bolt it will definitely be bug**red. Nothing to loose by removing a single bolt (nearest the leak), measuring the hole and measuring the bolt to see if there is clearance.I would want to see a decent gap, say 3mm, to be confident its not bottoming out. Remember the tapped hole is not going to be flat bottomed but hollowed and deepest in its centre. Any doubts and it's a new set of bolts, measure up all the holes and the new bolts to confirm they will work as designed. Tighten in the correct order and stages and don't rush it. I always have a cup of tea between stages to allow the gasket to squash. (And to get my breath back. I need to use a 2 metre scaffold pole extension on the torque wrench for anything over 20 ft lb!)

Oh, and blow out the holes with an air gun to make sure they are empty of crud and liquid.
