it is, seem to remember it being for sale last year at Harrogate, it was a young woman called louise from the NE that had it, bit of a petrol head even had Nitro fitted, was a member at one point.

how much is this going to take off my tyres?

as if i took spare wheels i dont think there would be anywhere to leave the others? one is JUST legal, and the other is on the markers, I havn't been stopped yet but if I risked going there on those, that would probably change ;) any opinions?

Just make sure you dont spin your tyres at the start.

Its easy to get carried away.

Take the revs up to about 3k, apply just enough clutch to get the car rolling on the green, then dont floor the throttle until AFTER the clutch & both wheels are fully engaged.

DONT rev the wotsits off it & dump the clutch, unless you have LSD, slicks & a severely beefed up transmission & drive shafts.

Do that on a normal setup (road tyres, working diff etc) & one tyre will go up in smoke & lose you a good 1/2 - 1 second. (and 1/2 mm of tread!!!)

Bob.

PS I'll be interested in the times tomorrow...

but I wonder if it'll last

I can guarantee it wont !!

I run a 2.0, big valve head, twin 40s, 136 bhp & my best time

was 15.2 and 87 mph this year.

Gives you something to measure against.

Theres no hiding place out there, the results are displayed in lights for everyone to see.

Practise the starts on the lights. Youd be amazed at what hot machinery can be beaten by a good start in a light car....catching up is hard & frustrating & can lead to missed gear changes!

Dont be disappointed at a low top speed, aerodynamics hadnt been invented when Colin C. designed the 7!!!

Tomorrows weather looks good, Have fun & post some results,

Bob

I'll aim to beat 16 seconds then ;)

I might try an enthusiastic start just to see the difference :D I wonder if there are many traffic lights on the way

no doubt times will be posted at the end of the day :) I think you get given a print out of your different times
