  1. Finally getting around to fixing indicators. After a day of tinkering, I am starting again. The problem is behind the dash in the relay / hazard / indicator part. I have the superspec dash with I think an escort instrument cluster. I want to not use the indicator warning light on that, but put a new separate light in. Will I pass an MOT, or does the light on the escort dash have to work? (can I just put a sign stuck to the dash, the light on cluster is not operational, use light above!?) Thanks Ed
  2. Mmm I'm at £148.36 with a plan- wonder why i'm so expensive? garaged, 3000 miles, 33 years old, no claims, 1 sp30, am a member of IAM. Must live in a dodgy area!!!
  3. The only problem is the ropey service you get in some kwikfits. I have to use them with company car and the city walls branch scratched my alloys and nicked my metal dust caps! The other branch are from helpful
  4. Lol could share the number plate with the chap from the dutton owners climb, get this one cleaned up.

    Boobs Or Car?

Believe you can apply that too woman too.......
  6. Have I read somewhere that some people have changed their front pads to more effective ones too?
  7. The car must have a rhocar account - went to a local garage to get an emissions test to see if I would have to play with exhaust / lambda over the winter lay up. Just on the final stages of the test, it dropped its guts on the garage floor (he was doing me a favour so felt bad!) Cant remember the term, but one of the collant metal pipes (runs above the exhaust manifold) doesn't have a bump to hold the hose on so it just slipped off On a plus side I hadn't got around to putting coolant in yet so the garage did that for me and emissions were 0 CO 17 HC and 1.025 lamda (rover t series 2.0 engine registered 2010) All for a pint or 5
  8. Hi, Did anyone see the tr6 wheeler dealer with the waterless coolant? Seemed a good idea and possibly ideal for 2nd cars that spend the winter sitting. Anyone use it? Ta Ed

    Feed Back

There are 2 volume settings on a windows based pc, open up volume control then one of the options will be to switch from playback and recording. Under recording you can choose what your source is(prob mic) de select that may help. Also mute microphone in playback. Ed

Afraid mine starts every time ok. No idea if it has 1 way valve.
  11. Do u have the elec demisters too? That may account for another switch!
  12. Have u checked fan is dead? On mine it was completely manual and u had to flick a switch to turn it on.....

And join the group, best £15 u can spend - you get a discount on insurance for being a club member normally and get to support the site/group.
  14. Think I will get an emissions test done before the winter wheels up......see if its a job that needs to be done. Foursome reason builder on mine didn't feed lambda cable through the gromit in side panel, but it just goes under......always wondered why!!! Cheers for sharing info james. Ed
  15. A lot of people have commented that damper tech are good.....they should know the best set up for superspec now as I believe they have helped out on a Couple now. Certainly where I will be trying! Ed
  16. Could lend a hand on Sunday....would be interested to learn more about the steam engines too. Ed
  17. Was surprised it didn't come with an emu....
  18. No idea if its a good price, but thought I would share in case it is of interest to anyone (not selling it and don't know seller.) http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/1-8-Zetec-petrol-/251161736704 Ed (Apologies if not in correct section!)
  19. While I was building my garage, I used a tarp on top of a fabric cover. Fed rope into all the eyelets to pull tight around the wheels then used bungees all the way around the car (underneath) which held it tight against the car. Didn't flap and kept the car nice and dry. From experience of wrapping garden furniture in screwfix tarp,it won't last more than a season seems to rot!
  20. keep us updated. Did you decat at all? Ed
  21. My plan was to remove the carbon fibre up top / boot lining, and slide it into place via the top opening........it does look tight when I measured it with the tape measure. This is where my lack fo build knowledge punishes me, what else would be in the way? Would it go in via the opening or does it need to go in sideways (which I guess means removing the wheel arches / back panel!) Ta Ed
  22. It's not as bad a job as I expected. Fitted my hood last month. Use lots of masking tape and take your time. I didn't build my car, and most xperience I have is replacing hubs, brakes, fuel tanks and radiators! I did similar to Paul, except I didn't fit doors first just lots of tape! If you don use poppers on front window screen, use caravan awning. I need to change mine then will be 99% water tight! My dad found a classic car upholsterer to fit a tonneau to his tr. was a long wait though, and expensive. Ed
  23. Try twigworths breakers in Gloucestershire, they may have one! Ed
