Your 100% right there is always going to be clashes but it does not have to be at the bank holiday weekend it can be held ANY weekend the point I was making is LOTS of people / companies will have made other plans there is STAMFORD - oulton park - Chris evans car fest etc ALL on the same weekend and not to start a bebate about it but stoneleigh is a crap show anyway every year it dies a little more -there’s no feel to it there’s no buzz. The kit car companies staff stand there looking bored - CBS now don’t bother even having a stand just dad standing there taking a few orders and handing out magazines and every year there stand gets smaller -  look at the year before last , half the hall closed off with a fence to try make it look more full then it is. The other main hall had to have cars inside , charity stands etc and coffee stands to try fill the space  ABS TOOLS took up 9 rows of floor space if he decides to go to another show and reduce his presence everything will fit in hall one ! why not have come back with a bang ANY weekend not competing with some long established VERY good shows 

I know it’s been a strange year and a half but to host it on the same weekend as a lot of other big family oriented shows I fear it’s gonna be a ghost town at stoneleigh  

Morning mark.   Are they Weber 45s.   If so order a new set from WEBCON it’s the new 5% ethanol fuel the new ones made by WEBCON are ethanol proof. 

Where did the gearbox come from?  

There are a couple of various although rare types of this box which had a setup called a low lift clutch this was something tried by Ford but was soon dropped as customers were complaining of crunching when changing gears. 

Hi yes the 16s are for the rear. 

0k hard to be 100% sure without hearing it but the screeching is prob the alt belt not tight enough and when the alt is under load it’s slipping.   That’s why when plugged it it’s drawing current not supplying 

Hi the 15s are gone.   The springs on the 16s are 250lb

You might be lucky with Granada ones but chances are your going to have to take some measurements and suck it and see.  The thing is not many fords were rear wheel drive then. Apart from like escorts but completely different setup

Agree that map needs a little tweak.   Some of the numbers are lower then the corresponding numbers.   11 /15 /14 /17.   But dam good as a base to tweak to get someone started.

thanks for the reply, while testing orginally I thought the same thing so I put in about another 10 litres of fuel as I thought she might just be out of fuel. but the video was taken after I added the fuel and checked that there was fuel coming through the hose to the carbs. Both hoses had good pressure to each carb so I ruled it out. I think I will try Foz's suggesstion and check the spark and timing as it seems to be the thing I havent gone through completely.

the really confusing thing for me is that it was running fine after I cleaned out the carbs and replaced the alternator belt. Anyway will keep you all posted as I am itching to get a good blast in soon. 

Ah ok.   So sounds like you have fuel getting to the carbs.  Look through the carbs <might need a mirror >. Open throttles can you see fuel being pumped in ??

screwdriver in the end of a plug lead placed on rocker cover a- does spark jump from screwdriver to rocker -   Yes - spark is fine ———no —-check spark

an engine even with piss poor timing will still try to start   

agree spraying so brake cleaner etc in the carb mouth is a 2 sec check to see if it’s fuel.   
 

Hi air con and power steering both come off then you need to buy an aux pulley from someone like retro Ford or poss GBs.  This bolts if looking at the engine above and to the right of the water pump.  I’ll try and find a pick and post it. 

Hi.  On the video is that the fuel pump I can hear at the very beginning.     If it is the loud clicking is because there is no fuel inside the pump.   The pump will quieten down when it’s full of fuel.

Remember a shock NEEDS rebound and compression a spring that holds a shock at the full extent of the travel will drive HORRENDOUS 

Ah sorry. Just looked and they now sell the 3J gearbox’s.   So the prices are treble what they was. 

Rally design ltd do a replacement gearbox off the shelf if you fancy a drive. 
it’s got uprated internals and is based on the gears from the capri so has a much better 1st gear.  I think the price was around £700 odd but it has been a while since I’ve looked at there catalog 

Ok can I ask you say it floods. So do I take it the plugs are wet ?  Plumes of black smoke while it’s running bad smell of petrol ?? 

What are the symptoms you actually have please.
