  1. Or a series 3 I could measure!
  2. Has anyone in the Walsall / Lichfield area got a spare seat I could borrow for an hour. I need one to line up the harness fixing points on my roll bar cross tube more easily than trying to measure for centre lines.
  3. Hi, did take mine apart to swap the wire but there was no solder pad on the other end! According to the microfiche that I have, there are 3 versions of the early sender and it looks like I have one I can't modify. Been in touch with gbs kitspares and they can't help with the values on the senders that they sell
  4. Did connecting the tv mast to the petrol tank improve the picture???
  5. The reason I was going to use a sierra sender is that the sierra one has the fuel take off pipe in it, the smiths one doesn't and I didn't want to drill the tank and fit a gland to take a pipe. If your values are correct I could live with the error. I know there are problems sealing the tank sender and it looks like I will have problems sealing the filler tube. It's a RH series 3 and the filler simply pushes into a ford grommet set in the tank. This may have been ok with the ford production tank but the RH tank material isn't thick enough to match the groove in the grommet.
  6. I will be using Smiths telemetrix gauges. Does anyone know if the fuel gauge will work with the sierra sender? I have the early sender, I believe the later senders have a different resistance range which may work with the smiths gauge does anyone know if this is so. GBS sell a sierra sender does anyone have the resistance values for this? ( I will try gbs tomorrow )

    Lowering

The old (and crude) way of doing this was to use special clamps to close up adjacent coils on the spring! You could always fit softer rate springs if you can find them

    Fuel Return

    Thanks, that's food for thought!

    Fuel Return

Don't have anything on it at the moment! I'm fully rebuilding the car from front to back and the tuned engine I bought used an electric pump. I was going to do the same, with the pump and regulator in the boot just above the tank.

    Fuel Return

Ah, don't have the mechanical pump. My engine has a blanking plate so thinking of the Facet type.

    Fuel Return

Thanks, forgot to ask what fuel pump you recommend and do you fit an extra filter? Rob

    Fuel Return

Thanks very much. Do you have a make or reference for the one you got off ebay?

    Fuel Return

Am I right in saying I do not need a petrol return pipe if I am using a filter king regulator to feed bike carbs?
  14. Radtec told me the ideal Pinto temperature is 90 degrees. They recommend 88 degree thermostat and a 92/87 degree fan switch (cut in/cut out temp)
  15. Just a thought, you are running 2 coil packs so if the engine is cutting out completely then it can't be the packs as the good 1 would still fire half of the plugs??
  16. Could be the wattage being different causing the flasher unit to "see" the wrong load. I think most car indicators are 21watt
  17. Forgot to say that I've finished the front suspension rebuild and now have properly supported tie bars and 120lb springs. Rob
  18. Thanks for the replies, I can get on with doing the steelwork tomorrow and order the shocks during the week! Rob
  19. My coilovers mount on the original sierra mounts at the rear of the trailing arms (1998 s7 3A). What spring rate is recommended or used? Rob
  20. One of the westfield sites says its permanent live to be used as an accurate battery voltage sense.

    Coil Pack Info

Thanks, are the leads different on the Mondeo then? I knew there are 2 types of ends for the leads clip and push on types. The coil pack that I have at the moment is the push on type.

    Coil Pack Info

Will the coil pack from a mondeo (number 1S7G-12029-AC) work with a Megajolt / Edis system without damaging anything?
  23. Sounds like float valves to me, had exactly the same problem on my Honda cb750 carbs after complete bike rebuild. Changed the faulty float needles and seats - cured. Don't know if Dellortos have renewable valves though.
  24. I tried the ka cylinder on my s7. Redrilled the pedal box to get the cylinder upright and made an alloy spacer plate so the cylinder didn't foul a couple of bolts. Made my own adjustable rod. Great! Then my wife says " I don't think there's enough clearance from the top of the reservoir to the bonnet". She was right so it all came off and I fitted a Fiat 132 (19mm bore) cylinder with remote reservoir.
