Don't use any abrasive polish at all, The SS has a protective film on it a polish will reck the film. Have a search on here to see the results of polishing the SS Steve

No he is very skillfully at controling a bike at speed. As already mentioned 10 years plus video evidence to prove it. TBH I'd feel safer with the ghost rider overtaking me at speed than some old codger in a volvo in a supermarket trying to park . It's all relative as Mitch said drive to your own limit. Steve

No It's perfectly ok if you've the right job maybe he's a copper testing the new company motor. http://www.metro.co.uk/home/19058-policema...g-gets-off-free BTW He is very highly skilled.

Can't help but think that the brighter kids are being deliberatly held back abit to make the rest look smarter. Mind you most of her science lessons last year involved watching CSI investigates. No wonder the countrys going to pot. Steve

Is it me or is it getting dumbed down. Eldest daughter (13) asked for help with Her home work btw she is in the top flight maths group way above the rest so they say. Create a formula based on white squares surrounded by red squares ie 1 white is surrround by 8 red 2 white 10 red 3 white 12 red and so on. Now tbh without being big headed it's so simple to me / not being a maths teacher I had trouble explianing it to her . So after about 3/4s of an hour managed to get Her to understand for every 1 extra white square theres extra 2 reds, But when it came to the +6 bit no chance. Also when it came to putting the equation in terms of x, y and c's I may as well have been speaking alien. Is it me or they teaching to the level of the the dumbest to make the statistics look good. On the bright side She can spell. Rant over Steve

Chances are it wouldn't suit a lightweight anyway. There lighter than a 2B

Kev Welcome I've not built a Zero mines a 2B, One thing to bear in mind is how long the will take. I took 4 years to build mine so the cost of the extras was spread out. Also depends on how much you are prepared to do yourself like cut the donor loom down, Spray the car yourself and so on. If you just plan to buy all the shiney trick bits in you can easily blow 10k in the blink of an eye. The main thing is to enjoy the challenge of building your own car your way. Steve

I got one of the ALDI ones http://www.aldi.co.uk/uk/html/offers/58_5174.htm they had them again late last year and there still some left in a few stores. Not the best made bit of kit and very noisy, But an absolute god send with a riviter for SS rivits. Also managed to spray the fiber glass bits to a decent standard aswell.

Andy The standard sump is fine for the SVA / IVA as long as they can get the car on the rollers for the brake test. But is next to useless for road use, grounds out for the fun off it mine lasted for about 100 miles http://community.rhocar.org/index.php?show...183&hl=sump NW hoodies site gives an excellent wirte up on shorting the sump. I've just got a new car that's got a personal plate on it. But its not very personal to me so I'm thinking of selling it on, I've had a valuation off reg transfers for £600 when it's sold. The reg is P80 RAM I know it's all about how much someone is prepared to spend as there no real value the DVLA actualy own the number and your just paying for the privledge of using the number. But looking on there web site most of the numbers ending RAM are £1000 + Not sure of the costs of tranfer and re-reg for my car but I think it's £80 to transfer and mine will then get an age related plate. £300 + pounds seems alot for letting them add it to there list and handling the paper work, Lets face it compared to registering a kit a transfer is a piece of cake. Anyone got a bit of insight on how they come up with the value and is it a fair price all being considered. Cheers Steve

Left school in 82 with not a lot not alot to show for the time spent there to busy with cars, motorbikes and girls to pay much attention education. Did various odd jobs far the first year then managed to get on a radio and tv repair course at the local tech college mainly due to the course being under subscribed I had no where near the right qualifcations. Passed the first year with a distinction. In the summer hols I did a bit of work for a friends father who ran a concrete repair , coating and machining company never went back to college and started my own contracting company in the concrete and terazzo industry used to have a 3 liter v4 terrco polisher grinder at one point. All went well till the early ninteys had a couple of full time employs then a couple of companys went bust bust owning me many ££££ allmost wiping me out. Changed direction and went to uni and gained a degree in in electrical and electronic engineering as a mature student. The year I qualified Ferranti went bust so finding a decent job in Manchester in electroincs was hard to say the least. So ended up working for a previous competitor in concrete repair industry running a team repairing the Nat West tower absolutley hated it but it payed the mortage. Whislt working on the Nat West I'd hired some 3 phase grinding kit from a manchester plant hire firm that failed to work due to the state of the wiring took it back to complain and walked out as plant manager money was'nt as good but I was back home in the evenings. Two weeks after my first was born I was laid off and I became a house husband for a year. Then took a job as an it support trainee for an airline at the age of 31 took to it like a duck to water three monthe later promoted to systems integrator with a 2.5 x pay rise happy days. Until 9/11 when I was made redunant so started out as an IT contractor, A change in personal circumstances meant I could'nt work away from home anymore so took a job working for a bank I was contrating for as an infrastructure engineer about 4 years ago. And as allready said we techies don't see much of a bonus just about hanging on to my job at the moment as it's all being off shored, Just waiting for another kick up the backside to start something new. Steve
