  1. awesome, i'll send the cad drawing tomorrow morning focus manifold (as far as i know, never tried it though) will fit fit straight on a quick google will answer your question though im sure
  2. ta daaaa http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/focus-rs-exhaust-manifold-zetec-turbo-project-/170864798238?pt=UK_CarsParts_Vehicles_CarParts_SM&fits=Model%3AFocus%7CCars+Type%3ARS&hash=item27c855ea1e
  3. exhaust manifold wise might be worth looking at mk1 focus rs manifolds. they were a zetec with a turbo on the side (even though they are badged as duratec) ive seen them on ebay going for 99p
  4. thats how mine sits with the gtir plenum on a pinto. the zetec has a lot wider head. so depending on how long yourthrottle bodies are you might have to put a hole in the bonnet. pm me your email address and i'll get you a cad drawing sent across i wouldnt bother emailing that gtirus place, they never got back to me, i rang them and paid over the phone, turned up the next day, cant fault them cheers, steve
  5. if you want to go down the gtir plenum route i have a cad drawing to get a blank baseplate made up i got laserman to laser cut the blank baseplate out of 5mm ali for mine and then i machined the holes in it to suit (i think he charged about £15) pm me if you want a copy of the cad drawing best place for gtir plenums is: http://gti-r-us.co.uk/ think i paid about £50 for mine... delivered cheers
  6. many thanks for the replies chaps i'll get some ordered and see how it pans out then. if the seals are wrong im pretty sure ill be able to get the right ones reasonably cheaply! thanks again steve
  7. ive sent my wishbones away for powder coating so havent had chance to offer them up to the chassis yet when i get them fitted i'll take lots of pictures and measurements which will hopefully work as some sort of guide for people attempting similar things
  8. thanks for the heads up i seem to remember reading that all non 4x4 ones are the same bearing, but i just want to be sure before i buy as im not sure what model my stub axles came off
  9. hi all just a quick one, searched on google but couldnt find anything are all sierra front wheel bearings the same apart from that on the 4x4 ones? cheers, steve
  10. brackets are as follows: theres also two big cross members which i forgot to take pictures of, but they are just a u-channel with some notches out for the chassis tubes and holes in the end for the wishbones hope that helps
  11. float bowls are pressurised injection can indeed be done reasonably cheaply, even by using the standard sierra manifold. but after spending several hundered on the bogg bros manifold and carbs etc, it would seem pointless replacing them with something else after only 300 miles use. how come webers are better carbs for forced induction? like i said, its been done before and got good results, injection would be the ideal but i could end up (and almost am) in the position where for the money ive spent messing with my pinto i might as well have bought a zetec/duratec/rv8 etc cheers
  12. im gathering parts at the moment to build a new engine for it, cossie rods and pistons and aout 8.5:1 CR cam will be a standard 2.0 one or a caravan cam depending on whats available on ebay at the time. while my current set-up, with high CR and not an ideal cam isnt great for forced induction, i'm just trying to get it to a point where it's working, then i'll swop the engines. forced induction through carbs is more difficult that going injection, but as i'd already spent a fair it on the n/a carb set-up i didnt want to have to fork out for all the injection gubbins i'd need, so i've adapted it there are 3 successful builds that i know of (sierras and capris) with very similar set-ups (bike carbs on a pinto) which work well, so i have faith
  13. 260hp! holy moly, what spec are you building it to? i'd have been better off with one of these than supercharing my pinto i think!!
  14. if its sliding pillar then i'd offer him £500, if its wishbone then i'd be inclined to offer slightly more. a donor sierra is gunna cost at least £500 these days anyway, they arent cheap as they used to be!
  15. love it always fancied some sort of V engine, the noise is just incredible. what sort of power are you expecting from this?
  16. yeah i'll be machining the block/pistons to suit. im after 8.5:1 CR to i'll machine to suit. just need to try get hold of a block first though!
  17. haha! yeah, still at 10.8:1 CR. does need lowering but im pretty sure this noise isnt pinking. never got chance for any garage time today. i'll get a video tomorrow im currently trying to build myself a spare pinto with cossie internals with a CR of about 8.5:1, so until i drop that lump in. i'll just stick a thicker head gasket on this one which should lower it to around 9.7:1, which should be safe enough. cheers, steve
  18. its not the cossie crank i was after really, i wanted to be able to fit a cossie clutch, slightly bigger dia, and can handle a fair bit more torque. only thing is the cossie flywheel and clutch are too big to fit in the standard type 9 bellhosuing. i'd heard from someone that an rs2000 bellhousing is bigger and it will fit in, so just trying to find out if that is the case. however after a chat with a couple of people over on turbosport, they seem to be of the opinion that a uprated pinto clutch will be fine on a car as light as this, so i'll chance it i think, saves a good few pounds anyway!!
  19. well i realised i'd left a breathr uncovered, so all the boost was lowing out of that, hence it gave the impression it was running well. now ive bunged it up it's started making a very unhealthy noise, sounds like metal to metal, will get a video up tomorrow. might just be belt slip, but it does sound metallic
  20. just looking at your picture again... is that an rs2000 bellhousing? i've been trying to find out if a cossie flywheel and clutch set-up would fit inside the rs2000 ellhousing for some time. ovbviously ill have to fit a cossie crank and what not, but if its possile then it may well e worth it for what i have planned do you by any chance known if its possile?
  21. that sounds awesome!! would love a good v6 or v8 in mine, but think i'd best stick with my trusty pinto for now!
  22. i've heard a lot of this book, always wondere what its all about ordered it now off ebay, not a book reading person, so will be interested to see how i cope with it
  23. iggy, thanks for the advice, im sure it'll come in useful i'll take some pictures of the kit later on tonight snapper - i'll pm you now cheers, steve
  24. ive finally decided to chop off the sliding pillars and stick some wishbones on i picked up the kit from gbsc today at newark (didnt hang around to chat as i had to get off im afraid) does anyone have any pictures of a converted 2b using the gbsc kit? any pictures would be good, or just general advice when fitting it looks fairly straight forward in all honesty, but thought it's probably worth doing a bit of research before i go past the point of no return and chop the pillars off thanks, steve
