Graham
that panel took 2 attempts and 3 evenings to make and it still doesn't sit flush with the side, but its now bonded and rivited so it's not moving now.

Nicking one of grahams ideas to strenghan the floor with ply will meen not much of the box section will sit proud so hopefully the seat won't catch it. as for the roll bar in yours all I can think of is a complete roll cage.

Work is a pain but it pays for the heating in the garage
sorry didn't mean to leave you on your own.
just fitted box section to drivers side. not keen on it now its in will post pic later once me hands warm up
Hi Scott
I loosly fitted the support brackets onto #25 (which I had to file a bit off the sides to fit in) and then like the video marked the bottom holles on the floor pan with a broken marker pen. The support brackets have diffrent spaced holes to fit against #25 and use the U bolts as final fixing.
Cant seem to find my photo's of that section
Trev nice to see you about but I don't seem to have permission to see your photo's
I was also thinking of bobbins my self Kieth, how many to each tube are you doing?
A meet seems a good idea as I was unable to go op north for a look.
I'll bring the jaffa cakes
My biggest gripe was not being told about all the extra's you needed to build the car
fraid I can't make it to the auto jumble to ask any questions
but would like to know if any future l/w's will include strengthing in the suspect areas or instructions on how to .
not given up on it yet just
All panels are bonded and the back tube is square (panicked and shot to garage ) I had already put extra steel under the roll bar and supports before Trevs problem.
I just feel persanolly that if I put a bit of angle iron bolted to the square tubes and run towards the front picking up the inner seatbelt mount mr SVA would be happier
I know I have a lot further to go than some L/w's but hopefully throwing these ideas around will help all.
I posted a piture here showing the rear wishbone mountings as this seems to be a place requiring strengthing.
The square tubes are rivetted and smallish tapping bolts hold it in place. like others have suggested using bolts all the way through looks the best solution but how do you stop crushing the tube?
this is a look from behind the car showing the bottom suspension mountings.
Could I attatch a angle iron along the part dropping down and pick up the square suspension tubes and forward for seat belt attachment or would I have to use box tube ?
I put a strong rope though the eyes and doubled over then twisted with a large screwdriver untill they came together enought.
Still had to force them in with a large rubber hammer
I'm feeling a bit conserned now but as I'm 3/4 of the way through the build I'll carry on untill finished and SVA'd. My main consern is the seatbelt pull test as at the present time RHSC do not seem to be in a position to help with.
But with the help provided by this community I'm sure we can find all the solutions and then pass them on too fellow l/w builders.
maybe a fixed thread with the answers in chassis would help.
keeping fingers and other bits crossed
