  1. Oh and a little finishing touch, just in case anyone passing was wondering whats underneath Catch me if you can..... :db: Now I'm almost ready for the Scottish invasion
  2. Well now its all done and ready.... Managed to fit the mesh to the bonnet today. Took me a good few hours of beating the mesh to the correct shape and not spliting it. I think the end result is pretty good. Well pleased. (Marcus..take note ) Now the car looks as good as it sounds...
  3. Car back home yesterday. Supercharger running great.. , did a 20 mile shake down yesterday and no issues. Got the mesh fitted to the bonnet today. Fitter washers today and working. Re-fitted boot. Apart from a clean and polish....looking like i might be ready
  4. Dan you don't need any forced induction, you already blow enough hot air
  5. Theres gonna be some worried sheep then....I still cant drink spirits...
  6. Definately up for a run out sometime Rob....Its been a long long winter Just need to retrain the right foot and make sure its in sync with the brain....This is going to be one noisy-rapid ride.
  7. What spare carrier... Gonna be a 20 litre can strapped in the passenger seat...
  8. Yes....finally there :clapping: Car now finally mapped. 230bhp and 202Lbs of torque on Kamikaze setting. 190 bhp and 190lbs torque on normal driving map setting. (I'll try to post some graphs later) all on 7 PSI boost Car ran well, just needed a bit of tweaking on the verniers and some work on the Silicone hoses to prevent them collapsing on idle (When not on boost charger creates a vacuum which can collapse hoses). So Saturday will be load the car up on the trailer (Rich that means you need to make some room back in your garage for the trailer.... ) and then get it home for a bit of polishing and a few tidy up jobs in prep for Scotland. Just need to fit the washer system and I'm ready to go... Here's hoping for some sunny stuff the weekend so I can start to put in a few shakedown miles in advance.. Its been a long journey but finally got there. Cant say big enough thanks to Rich for the engineering input and sheer hours invested in the charger and for the long loan of the trailer, and also for Mike at Roadrunner who has really looked after me during the troubles we initially had and all the hrs of work him and his guys have input into the car.. Oh and for Shafts little touch of finesse to the charger Thanks to you all :aggressive:
  9. Hmmm 100 mile between fuel stops might be a challenge now.. Gonna have to put my right foot on a diet. 20 litre tank and 230bhp. Cant wait...looking forward to this :clapping:
  10. Yes. The std 1.8 is plenty quick enough for starters. A cracking little engine which can easily and cheaply be modified in the future. I've gone down the charger route after 2 years of std power fun....enjoy
  11. Mx5 1.8 supercharged is the way to go......
  12. Okay, though it about time for an update.... Been busy on the car today and made some real progress. Got the wipers fitted and working and chassis modified to accommodate the wiper boxes. Also Mike modified the chassis around the Diff to prevent the much increased Torque trying to twist the diff out the mounts....job done: Then after a quick check and clean, scuttle refitted and out for a little test drive, after all sun was making a guest appearance and it seemed rude not to. Mike had his new demo car on throttle bodies ready, so a quick 15 mile blat to his garage workshops ready for final tuning on the rolling road. All I can say is OMG.....!!! I'm gonna have to get some lighter feet and some bigger cahoonies.... Had the car sideways out of the first corner, still smiling now... And the noise is.....yep LOUD... The demo car was quick but quiet, mine was quicker but a screaming Lion coming down the road. Felt sorry for the guy walking the dog when the dog nearly pulled him through the hedge as I went passed. He never blinked when Mike in the Demo car in front went past first. After final mapping next week I can hopefully get the car home and finish off fitting the black mesh over the bonnet hole and a few other bits and bobs ready for the Highlands trip. Mike reckons a further 20-30 ponies are waiting to be released. Just hope the new clutch and engine holds together... A good day all in all :clapping:
  13. Take a closer look Nelmo. The Roadrunner Sr2 do do a proper road version with windscreen (I'm the first ) and have covered 7K road miles todate with a few track days to boot. Car is carperted, roof, doors and a boot (small). But much lighter than a Zero. Ally panels ok, but a sod to keep looking good especially with a bit of road salt on....Grp easy to keep clean, Just ask the lads on here and £ for £ about the same costs. Definately budget min £10-12K though (depending on spec) but add another £3-5K if GBS are supplying everything from a donor for you.
  14. Sound very interesting....Might be tempted
  15. Good progress made today.. Wipers in fitted and working...after a bit of head scratching and working out how to reverse the motor drive so wipers would operate in correct direction. Engine in and on the new mounts. Mike at Roadrunner has done a cracking job on this by specially making each mount so that engine is slightly canted over to give some clearance. So now I can get the bonnet on and over the charger...Just now need to make some more mesh for the enormous hole in the bonnet for the charger bulge. Mike has been pretty ill the past 2 weeks so work has not moved on quite as quick as i would have liked, but cant moan....my car has been sat in his workshops since beginning of December. Hopefully he will be well enough this week to crack on with a few mods to strengthen the chassis and a bit of welding to my intercooler (fixing brackets). Then its back on the rolling road where everything will be crossed as the new clutch has only been tested up on the ramps...seems to work ok.. . So all being well and no more catastrophes car should be back home in 2 weeks for a bit of fettling and getting her ready
  16. Mine still in bits having new engine mounts fitted. Chassis modified to accept wipers and strengthened around the Diff.. Then back on the rolling road to check out the new racing clutch and finish mapping.... Should be ready.... I hope
  17. Posted a question on their Facebook site, no profanities just simply asked why has the car club stand that has been voted best for past 2 years and one of the biggest contributors to helping out not been invited for 2015?.....2 hrs later my post removed and I've been blocked... nice!!! Definately better off elsewhere IMHO... It's not the venue that makes the weekend it's the people....
  18. Blimey...where did you pop up from...thought you had emigrated...hah hah
  19. And I get to try the Kamikaze ECU map mode.... ...... Undertakers booked for the 8th then  Kev..No need to bring a trailer I'll be driving it down....Might need a wheelie bin to bring it back though...ha hah
  20. Hmmm could be interesting on a drag strip... The charger should be well fettled by then so either my tyres will burst due to the sheer speed and kill me, my clutch will tear itself apart due to the sheer amount of torque and kill me, my engine will disintegrate and the shrapnel will kill me, my diff will twist itself out of the chassis and kill me........guess you can count me in then
  21. Guess we'll have to make a long weekend of it.... Some nice roads around there
  22. Just seen this on Locost builders...Looks like a new show in place of Donnington? http://www.castlecombecircuit.co.uk/events/action_display_event.asp?BookingEventID=862 Bit of a trek though for us Northeners...but looks interesting
  23. I know the feeling Dan...trust me
