  1. Thnx for support I wanted to post some pics, but been called into work early. had a wee drive today, just to try and sort steering self centering & adjust speedo nowt on full lock but it was straightning up from half lock. See what the tester says!!!!!!!!!!!!!! fingers crossed cheers Paul

  3. made the decision to trailer the car to test centre just dont have the cash for insurance & possible retest. I only live 1.5 miles from the test centre so not missing much of a drive. Paul

Hi Nick A mate had his Tiger Cat fail at Newcastle as a secondary fixing was needed through the top ball joint mount(the bit the cycle wing brackets are welded to), the pinch bolt isnt considered enough. The tester showed him a picture of a failed unit. see my pic attached, the second fixing(dome head allan bolt) is to the right of the pinch bolt. Hope that helps Cheers Paul
  5. thanks for replies a few more bits sorted this weekend. CO checked at 1.4%- IVA limit is 3.5% exhaust noise checked at 98db, might chuck in another scubber just to be sure secondary fixing for top ball joint mount(drilled & bolted) many thanks to Steve(redspec) for help & guidance. Main worry now is the brakes, they seem ok but dont really know how good they are till there tested cheers Paul

  11. had IVA confirmed 12th Oct 9am a few jobs left to do. i will in the garage next weekend 2nd/3rd if anyone wants to come and take the p*55 offer wisdom etc. also has anyone got an emissions tester that I could borrow cheers Paul
  12. tried with gas torch and it melts it not bothered about plastic behind rivet as cant see it just wanted to get rid of the snotty bits cheers Paul

  14. I was hoping for a liquid that would dissolve the plastic but not mark the ally
  15. does anyone know how to remove the plastic film from ally panels after its been riveted. previuos owner has done all the riveting without removing plastic and its leaving "snots" when I pull the plastic off. tried cutting it off but it always leaves a scratch on the ally. tried heat but just makes it more snotty. Any ideas ??? Cheers Paul
  16. Hi Bob I have used the ford shifter and yes it needs to be narrowed. I added some extra metal for strength from backend to halfway along also moved the gearshift base back abit & rewelded it. there are 2 lugs on the side of the bellhousing that need to be cut off. hope this helps cheers Paul

  23. I have a kia sedona bonnet vent that just fits over the hole I lifted the engine so that when the sump is chopped it well give me decent ground clearance Cheers Paul
