    Won't Fire Up!

Hi Dave Just a thought, but is the vacuum pipe still attached to the ECU? If not, this could be why it's running a little rough. James
  2. You'd have thought he'd put a little more effort in and chromed the wing mirrors.....

    Fuel Filter

hi Gavin I'm building a superspec and was orginally given the same filter as you. But then RH sent out a larger metal fuel filter and said we should use that instead. Looks like enforcer got on fine with the plastic one though....

    Brakes

Hi John Is this for a super spec? If so, I think you mean the link between the master cylinder and remote reservoir. RH provide some plastic tubing for this - which I believe is not suitable! The material has to be of a certain grade. I've seen that other builders have used copper pipe and put in bends / re-sizers etc to make this link. I'm at this stage too, but thinking about using a suitable rubber hose such as... http://www.thinkauto.com/ http://www.thinkauto.com/acatalog/Price_Li..._hoses_107.html .... as this looks easier to do. The master cylinder effictively sucks the brake fluid through these pipes, so there isn't much pressure in them at all (ie very slight vacuum?). Hope this helps? Let us know how you get on, and what solution you go for... Harvs.

    Won't Fire Up!

Hi Dave Is the battery fully charge? If you've been turning the engine over a few times, and not running it for periods of time, then the charge may have dropped. Maybe worth a quick try with battery from tin top? Good luck Harvs.

  12. Hi Pete You can download google earth from here: http://earth.google.com/ Just follow the instructions and you should be up and running. Hopefully you'll then be able to zoom into you house etc. But bear in mind that some areas have better resolution than other at the moment....
  13. I've been playing around with google earth, and tried to find a Robin Hood. The best I've got is a few westfields outside their factory so far.... Can anyone else find one....?!

  16. Ah - that looks like a good idea. I guess you just need to leave enough space between the new sheet and existing firewall for the heads of the bolts. Only downside I can see is that if you need to take off some of items (coil / ecu etc) then you'll need to take off the scuttle rather than just reaching up inside it. But hopefully shouldn't need to take anything off, so will be ok! Can you remember what thinkness of sheet you used? Somthing like 2-3mm?? Cheers James
  17. I'm planning to use some small clamps from B&Q as Will has done - he kindly sent me this photo of his set up:
  18. Hi guys I'm building a superspec, which comes with a scuttle unit incorporating the firewall and dashboard. I'm thinking of separating the firewall from this, so that I can fit the firewall / association components (expansion tank, coil, ECU, etc) first and have the flexibility to add / remove the dashboard / scuttle top later. (I can see the latter being on and off like a yo-yo, so though this would make life easier....) Is this a good / bad idea? Is there anything I need to take into account (eg SVA regulations) Any thoughts appreciated! Cheers James
