  1. The next supercharger project will be making its way up norf and across the board into the land of men wearing skirts
  2. Tim, you're welcome to be my Guineapig....I mean test pilot for the first of two v8 charger projects
  3. Another test fit in the car. This time the plenum is spaced a further 16mm out (I'll be machining a spacer plate to increase plenum volume) and the throttle body has been rotated 90 degrees to clear the bodywork. Snug fit but it all clears and sits under the bonnet with 5 or 6mm spare! By the time I'm finished, this engine bay will be crammed full with engine.....just the way it should be!!
  4. It's a good bit of kit! No chatter, really solid and all the bars to go from 25mm to 350mm
  5. Today's mission complete.....throttle body joined in holy matrimony to the plenum cover.....welding cast ali isn't one of my favourite jobs.. Machining the flange to suit the tb angle;
  6. Engine inlet manifold nearly complete. I'm really please with the fuel rail mount being really small and compact. Trumpets also fitted. Next job is to fit the throttle body on the front of the red plenum casting....
  7. get yourself across!!! its a right good laugh. Usually we stand around the carpark with a drink in hand chatting and admiring each other's cars........and when the fumes from jaimo's car get too much, we go inside for some fresh air
  8. Hi everyone, Just to let you know we're still taking bookings for weekend and the more support we can get then the better the weekend will be! I've spoken to the catering company and by the sounds of it they are brining enough food to feed an army! Over the weekend, they are looking at putting on pies, jacket potatoes, pulled pork, chilli con carne, chips, burgers, full English breakfasts etc.....food and drinks served all day. They are also bringing a large gazebo with tables and chairs so we can sit down and enjoy their food.....all prices are very reasonable and not the stupid sky high prices normally seen at shows. Late Saturday afternoon we'll be doing the Markb memorial run. Saturday evening we have the same great band 'The Catalogues' playing. Bar will be open from around 7pm. We'll have a large bouncy castle, inflatable obstacle course and the inflatable jousting podium all weekend for the kids (and big kids alike). The traditional archery will the there. Please support the event as it will be hard to maintain for the future without members support!

Congrats to you you both!!! Really happy for you
  10. More jig making. This time it's for the injector bushes. The injector bushes have been machined from 20mm dia bar and are being centred at 91.25mm to suit a mx5 fuel rail. A little bit of useless knowledge; Mazda mx5 engine inlet ports are at 91.25mm centres and the zetec is at 92mm centres. Whilst not a perfect match, it's close enough for fuel rail / injector purposes. The critical thing I've learnt with injector bushes is that they all have to be at the same angle and height. That's why I've made this jig. The 4 legs (pretend injectors) are spaced at 91.25mm, and each leg is exactly the same length to ensure each bush (injector seat) sits at the same height. Next job is to TIG it all together....fingers crossed
  11. was going to give a you call tomorrow nick as I may need a slight favour regards the eosb weekend
  12. all good mate. Phil and I are sorting final numbers this weekend so get your form and payment done asap please
  13. pretty good front suspension as well I was gonna come but then saw Emma was going and so thought better of it
  14. you could say that even if I was there matey! It's looking probable my meeting tomorrow will be cancelled and so I can be there tonight......fingers crossed anyway
  15. not going to be there tonight. I have to be in central London for 7am tomorrow so early night for me tonight
  16. There wouldn't be a build thread for that until after it was finished......one day it might magically appear on the forum......that's assuming I can ever get on top of other peoples projects!!
  17. Bridgeport makes light work of the injector bush holes......Great machine!!!
  18. Quick test fit before fully welding the inlet together.....
  19. Phil, I know we've already spoken at length but I'm always here for you mate and looking forward to seeing you all on Saturday. Please don't stress about the EOSB, given everything you, Helen and the girls gone through and currently going through, anyone in your shoes would do the same. Stuart (club sec) text me this morning having seen your post and has come up with a great idea; Money raised from the Markb memorial run (and matched by the club) could be donated to buy Helen a wig. Kirsty thinks it's a good idea as well as I'm sure the rest of the committee (and Emma) will agree......I don't want to speak for them but I can't see why there would be any objections.
  20. So done with machining for a little while and onto a bit of fabricating. The engine inlet needs to be made before the supercharger outlet so that I can work out what space I've got to left to fit the charger outlet. It probably doesn't look like it, but each one of those inlet runners took over 2 hours of cutting, welding, grinding, smoothing and cleaning up the joints inside the tubes. Next job is to fit the Nissan GTiR plenum.
  21. Just been speaking to the burger-van lady. They will be there for the whole weekend. Serving food all day and all night untill folks turn in. There will be a full English plated breakfast in their gazebo with 18 chairs and 3 6ft tables. They will also be serving jacket potato's, chips and potentially pukka pies.
  22. I read the other day the account from the 73 year old biker who was injured. Brave bloke doing 70mph he threw his bike to the ground and slide underneath the collapsed bridge........makes me think of some kind of James Bond film... "I didn't get a lot of time. One minute the bridge was there and the next it wasn't. It all happened so fast. "Initially all I saw was one end of the bridge come down. As the bridge came down, I threw the bike on the ground, and I ended up just clearing it.
  23. Supercharger is coming along nicely. Onto the engine intake manifold and I've a nice little jig for ovalling the tube...
