Quick Release / Snap Off Steering Wheel

What experience do people have with quick release steering wheels please? Ideally could also do with one that would bring the steering wheel a little closer to my body as well.

Hi,

My Sierra based S7 has a quick release steering wheel fitted and it certainly makes getting in and out easier. Also it would make it harder for the local tea leaves to drive it away when it is removed. I don't know whether fitting one would make much difference to the distance to your body, maybe though the style/type of wheel could make a bit of difference.

I dropped on a snap off kit on ebay for cheap you can also buy spacers too . remember the stalk will be further away though

Make sure it comes with a man-bag To tote it around in.

Depending on the type you fit, it will bring the steering wheel closer. I have fitted a bolt on type to mine and it is the slimmest I could find at about 25mm, most are about 60mm in depth. It fits between the existing boss and steering wheel. It does the job and wasn't huge amounts of money.

yes approx 2" i didn't buy that exact one i got mine from ebay for a lot less

Was it private or a shop Dan? If it was a shop do you still have the details please?

ebay shop in the usa no details it was a long time ago, do a search for quick release steering boss loads come up,

It is a mountney one, I think, and I got it from Demon Tweaks.

i found a narrow one on eaby sticks out 25mm more than original boss ebay number is 170998936356 hth
