Got her to idle, think the mixtures a little rich at idle which would make sense as the carb was last setup on a 2.0 pinto.

Checked rev counter wiring and all seemed correct. Going to take it out and wire it up direct and see if that works. If not it's dead :(

Today a contingent of hoodies from across the west and East Midlands gathered and worked on the car! As is standard for this particular car, it caused a bigger headache than was entirely necessary but still we got some jobs ticked off the list and a few others to a position where I can carry on and finish them off.

Tractor welded up the throttle linkage bar

And then secured the lower suspension bracket (this had been missed before)

Meanwhile jez and Gaz where working the seat mounts, which proved to be an even bigger pain than expected but we ended up with one set of

Mounts ready to go (just need painting) and the passenger side just needing a little more work. I don't seem to have got much in the way of photos of their handy work but here's a couple of work in progress shots

It was decided a new cable was required but it's already far better than it was.

I also did a little bit of work, I fitted one of my new upper ball joints with half nuts which combined have given me a lot more camber adjustment, fitted a pinch bolt to the steering shaft, and fitted my new expansion bottle

Thank you again to everyone for all of your help, we achieved a lot of things I would never have been able to do by myself. Same time tomorrow?

I also did a bit of work on the passenger seat mount but haven't take any photos of that yet.
