Best gearbox mt75 hybrid 2.9/2.9 4x4 front case and internals (long input shat) 2.0 rear case (best from diesel Granada ) if you both boxes a gearbox specialist will charge about 80qiud to do the job good strong box with a nice tall 5th gear.

(Have one in the Capri)

Duratec v6 has a different bolt pattern to standard zetec. There are no more of the bell housings I have used left. The jag gearbox ratios are a bit low and you might find it is not the best to drive. Other option is an adapter plate

The engine you have purchased looks like the 2.5 v6 and will take a lot of effort to fit with not that much increase in power. You might be better with the 3.0litre v6 from the s type

If the 2b tunnel is the same width as the Superspec, then the MT75 should fit.

I'll have a measure of my Superspec tunnel tomorrow and post back.

You'll probsbly have to fabricate new gearbox mountings to the chassis, but I guess that's a relatively minor issue at this stage.

It might be worth speaking with a Superspec owner who has the original supplied MT75 (mated to the Rover 2.0 T Series), as these were apparently from a LHD V6,

The giveaway is the top 2 bolt holes are closer on the V6 bell housing compared to the standard 4 cyclinder (Pinto/Zetec etc) bolt pattern.

I think they had the longer input shaft as well and I can vouch that the bell housing pattern is slightly different, (I had to get a new box when I had the Zetec fitted to replace the Rover engine).

Hope this helps

Just measured my tunnel width (only just remembered as well!).

Widest section (bell housing end) 240mm under the scuttle/into the engine bay.

Narrowest section 80mm.

MT75 fits well, the bell housing sits forward of the widest section measured above, but you'll have to lose the standard gearlever mounting frame, it's just too wide (unless you chop it to fit of course).

Hope this helps
