Chris, I knew you had a big garage...But 2 kit cars, 15 engines, 20 gearboxes and couple of bikes and a lorry

Rest of the bits arrived today, think its just gear box oil left but eurocarparts dont stock it for an mt75, does anyone know what oil I need?

5 speed gearbox that replaced the Type 9 box. All alloy casing with integral bellhousing (an aftermarket 2wd gearbox is also available with removable bellhousing). Available in 2wd and 4wd versions. 1" x 23 spline input shaft. Fitted in:

• Ford Sierra / Granada 2wd Dec 1988 on
  
• Ford Sapphire / Escort Cosworth 4wd
  
• Ford Sierra / Granada 2.9 4wd
  

 

Oil capacity: 2wd 1.2 litres, 4wd 1.2 litres (plus 0.5 litres in transfer box). Standard oil grade ATF.

so 1.2 litres required. Problem is there was loads of different ATF when I asked they said It need to be a certain one that they did not have. don't know what the difference is but looks like Halfords it is then! good spot dino.

Oil could be ATF or 75/90 gear oil. The Comma oil website suggests 75/90, Burtons say ATF.

 

I'd be checking whats already in it and using the same.
