5000 miles!!! Try 15 minutes! After a fifteen minute run today the red has already 40% faded to kind of gold colour! Still looks better than it did. I'm going to get some heat resistant red paint and spray the wrap.

Just ordered some red exhaust paint £8.99. Try that.

Painting it with exhaust paint is about the only way to get it to stay red.

Yeah... I researched it and painting over the wrap is pretty good apparently and will keep the look I'm after :-)

The non coloured exhaust wrap always smokes & stinks when the engine is first run...

the colour does change a bit too, so no surprise the red version does.

Is it possible to have ceramic coating on the outside??

Have you wrapped the section under the bonnet? If you haven't you might find you will increase the temp under the bonnet.

Good luck on the paint. I painted my original RH exhaust black and it lasted for years.

As agent z. If you have not well wrapped all the manifold as well as the pipe watch out for big trouble.

Heat has to go somewhere so under load your manifolds could be the nice red you are after.

All the same watch the silencer and even the tail pipe get a lot hotter than before.

Your pipe didn't look like s/steel before you dressed them. If not, they will be happy rotting away now.

Hot under the wrap, get wet through a puddle or rain, guaranteed rot.

Even more so when parked up wet.
