It had donor car reg at time of registration/build. The actual year is 2009.

I believe that if you change the first plate, the H reg, then that plate cannot be used again.

But it wasn't a new car in 2009 it was a rebuild of a H reg sierra so should never be on an 09 plate.

DVLA has all the details for the car on that plate so someone has managed to frig the system

it's a 1995 car though. it is a rebuild of a h reg sierra, it was registered in 2009 but that isn't technically the age is it?

so does that mean i can buy a personalized reg that is newer than 1986 as my car was registered 2010??

surely not??

steve have you tried emailing him via ebay and asking the question?

He says he bought it from the original builder like that!

I was the original builder and didn't sell it to this guy, i sold it to someone from manchester and it went on a H plate

His advert is a near copy and paste of my original advert on raced and rallied and as such his claims of a recent rebuild are probably *bleep*s too

My car is on a "C" plate (1985) but was built in 1997. I wanted to put my personal plate on it which starts with "E" but the DVLA said it had to be C or earlier as the original donor was 1985 hence the age related plate.

Just looked at the mot history for KT09TPV. Mot'd August 2012, August 2013, April 2017. No records for 2014, 2015, 2016?

My question is why this been done to a correctly registered car other than making it look newer than it is which in the kitcar world seems pointless! Mine was registered 2010 but date of first use is 1986 hence the c plate.

It apperas to be a bit of an anomily that if you put an age related kit on a private plate, then subsequently remove the plate, they issue a numberplate that coincides with the registration year and not the year of the donor as that year isn't recorded on the v5.

There are a few people out there that this has happened to.

I'm one of them. Took my age related 1988 F plate off to put a private plate on. Took that off at one point and got a 53 plate back from the DVLA which was when it was originally SVA'd / registered (Dec '03).
