  1. Use a chisel thats not too sharp hit it around the edge in a few different places anti clockwise its always worked for me hope this is clear and try not to damage the back plate jon

    Can you fix the quadrant to the pedal and use a cortina clutch cable which has adjustment on the bell housing end HTH jon
  3. If its pinto early 1984 Star sockets were replaced with T55 torx HTH jon
  4. Remove the live from the sender unit and put it to earth with the ignition on the needle should go from the bottom of the gauge to the full.if that works the gauge is ok you may have to bend the float in the tank to get the correct reading PS As it is its reading the best way HTH jon

    If the clutch cable is near the exhaust the heat can soften the plastic on the outer cable,causing it to loss part of the clutch travel. then its ok when it cools down I have watched this happen as someone worked the clutch pedal for me. HTH jon
  6. My 2b spare sits on the cradle and has one bolt holding it to the back panel Its been there 5 years HTH jon
  7. Some narrow worn bearings can be packed with felt or string soaked in oil and pushed into the tube around the shaft,It may need something to stop it coming out at the bottom. HTH jon
  8. Have you much play on the clutch pedal If you have take it up by putting washers between the bell housing and the end of the inner cable HTH jon
  9. If its boiling, Water should be coming out of the overflow pipe to release the pressure. Try removing thermastat and if thats no good test for a head gasket jon

  11. It can be caused by a bend being too tight. Changing the cable can be a nightmare. I would tape it up and run some oil down the inner cable and straighten any bends as much as possible HTH jon
  12. Angle iron may be better as the box section may squash under load unless its re;enforced inside the box section HTH jon

  15. Hi Luke Sorry but I don't know how to put photos on here. The cover is made of 2x circles of hardboard glued together. It fits onto the alloy rim so you cannot touch the rim or spokes with your fingers, when fitted on with cable ties. It fits a 205/50/15 Yokohama 5 spoke alloy. Its 16 ins in diameter HTH Jon
  16. I have a plywood /hardboard disc to fit into my 15ins wheel, it fits a 2B, if its any good to you, you can have it. I live in Ashington and used it to pass SVA. jon

  18. The Exhaust valve will be open to push the exhaust gas out check timing Not sure if the 2lr camshaft opens the valves more than the 1600 someone on here will know jon
  19. When fitted to the sierra its easier to remove the pedal assembly to fit HTH jon
  20. Changed a rack once thinking it was faulty because clicking noise an the steering It turned out to be the UJ just below the column Ithink they have small needle bearings in them HTH jon
  21. Years ago we used to put 4 pencil marks across the valve seats to make sure all were broken when the valve was replaced and turned a few times We also used an electric drill to grind the valves in HTH jon

If the cam and followers are cleaned up and the engine used, the very worst that can happen is the cam will wear, which will stop the valve opening as much as they should, and it will go onto 3 cylinders and a knock may occur. I would give it a try, other wise replacing the cams and followers is not a 5 min job, plus the cost. jon
  23. If the rust rubs off with a finger nail and has no pitting on the cam or followers, Id be inclined to clean it up and give it a try, I would inform GBSC of the situation But I don't think they can be held responsible as its four years old HTH jon
  24. Just taxed my Hood cost £205 for 12 months If I had left it until tomorrow 1st April the cost would be £215 So get yours taxed today jon
