  1. Booked, with a mate, at Graeanfryn Farm ... believe others are already booked in there too. This'll be my first 'trip' ... looking forward to it!

    Portmeirion

Can anyone confirm this rumour that I have heard ... or squash it, as nonsense, please. I would like to revisit Portmeirion - haven't visited the village since the 70's - and have heard that entry is free if you turn up in a 'seven'. OK I drive a Robin Hood but it's as close as I can get to a 'seven'! Intend to be around that area in August ... just trying to plan ahead. Diolch
  3. Just what we Brits have come to expect with British Bank Holiday weather !!! But, we'll just grin and bear it ... then talk and moan about it over a few beers.
  4. Spent this morning packing hoodie in preparation for tomorrow's run down to Stoneleigh. Had hoped to drive down with the roof off but in the end I needed it on to keep contained all the 'stuff' I have squeezed into the back! Just returned from a couple of hours down on the allotment ... almost horizontal sleet/hail !! What the heck is happening? At this rate I'll also have to take my doors and wellies with me for the two days of the show! Hope my tent will survive the Bank Holiday weather!
  5. I agree with your stand nikki ... real shame though. Trailer it in? Drive it home ... no, probably not really worth it.
  6. Hey Dino ... not implying anything about beef burgers or hog roast are you .... ?! What do you know that the rest of us don't?
  7. Plan to be there for breakfast about 8.15, then eat, eat and eat!! You might have to leave without me!
  8. And redseven engineering can't be bettered!
  9. Great news ... well done. For the amount of 'real time' we watch back video footage ... I also use a 'reasonably priced' dash-cam am pleased with the results. Alan

    Afternoon Out

Hi Glenn ... nice photos mate. Did you use the 'toy setting' to get the effect on your first two photos. Monochrome, obviously, doesn't show the colours of your car - but gives a superb photograph all the same. Alan
  11. You're very welcome to them Rich. I've just got to remember to pack them alongside my tent and sleeping bag, beers and tooth brush - come the end of April. I shouldn't forget, but if you want to remind me nearer the time ... us oldies do tend to forget things, occasionally, so I'm told!
  12. While Steamer had my car, he carried out a 'tie bar conversion', giving me a vastly improved handling car. He removed the old dampers and springs ... probably rated around the 180lb mark and replaced with new 120lb springs and Gaz dampers. The old set up is now sitting in my workshop, not to be used again - by me. If the old damper/spring set up is of any use to anyone, just give me a shout. I had my car put back on the road for a VERY economical price, so am not asking anything at all for these parts. I reside in the West Midlands and shall be attending the Stoneleigh Kit car show, if you would like to make use of said suspension 'stuff' ... you can collect, or take it from me in May. Cheers Alan
  13. The number of 'likes' to comments you've made.
  14. Yessss ... yesssss .... I am back on the road! Steamer has both reconstructed and upgraded my car, after the horrendous 'splitting' which began last December. I posted photos of the car tearing itself apart and assumed the worst, SORN'd the vehicle and assumed my future would have to be back to cycling! But no ... had a chilly but exciting drive home from Steamer's, this afternoon with a frozen smile in place, all the way home. Car handles beautifully, at speed, with the roof off. What more can I post about the phoenix rising from the possible scrap heap? A superb piece of engineering form a top man ... THANK YOU Richard ... very, very much. Roll on Stoneleigh, here I come!
  15. If I have got it right, the co-ordinates 52.846924 -1.408222 on Google Maps takes you to the entrance gate. Please correct me, if this is not the correct place.
  16. Don't we all understand the ... "You've got this job to do" ... phrase ...
  17. Sounds an excellent idea and a good day out ... unfortunately, if it will always be this date, it will clash annually with drama productions I am involved with in a 'technical' capacity.
  18. Well ... lucky me!! Unfortunately, I am going on holiday with the whole family, so will be unable to collect my newly finished hood for a week or so!!! I look forward to inspecting the quality work and making it available for viewing at Stoneleigh, for those interested. There is no way I could have received such a professional repair and improvement had I taken my car to any local garage ... I can not believe how fortunate I have been. I have messaged Richard to organise an exchange of goods and am suffering withdrawal symptoms ... can't wait! Thank you Richard ... very, very much. I think I now owe you a brewery, not a pint.
  19. Nice idea ... unfortunately my wife has arranged an old school get together for the same weekend.
  20. I'll bet that I am one of many saying ... "If I hadn't already got one ...." Looks a cracker - wish you well. I'm sure that it won't be on the market for long.
  21. Bloody marvellous !! And all carried out without anaesthetic. An incredible piece of engineering ... many, many, thanks Richard.
  22. Looks like a specialist bone surgeon at work ... I observe with awe, anticipation and mounting excitement. I should be the proud owner of a 'bionic car' before too long ... WOW.
  23. An excellent evening, with excellent company ... plus Christmas crackers!!! What more could you ask!
