  1. I have just viewed the sales brochure ...... Oh dear, really?!
  2. FOZ and I plan to visit Caffeine & Machine at Ettington, Stratford-upon-Avon, Tuesday 7th for about 1pm. Many of you will only just have returned from the End of Season Bash ... sorry was unable to make that ... so may not be available for another run out - plus, I realise, you are not all retired!! If available and fancy a run out on probably the last beautiful sunny, hot day for a while, this is the venue: co-ordinates 52.150105 -1.630045 post code CV37 7NS As I have stated, I was unavailable for this last weekend's 'Do' but I would still like to offer my appreciation for all the organisation, time and effort put in by all who organised and ran the event - the club is run by truly amazing people ... thank you all.
  3. The weather forecasts implies that summer is ending this coming Thursday morning ... ugh! Before my kit hides from the under it's plastic ill-fitting 'pac a mac' (remember those?) I am considering a run out to the Caffeine & Machine at Ettington on Tuesday next. To my surprise, my dear beloved, who dislikes hoodie, has offered to join me on what promises to be a late summer's day!! Sensible driving then ... Oh well, you can't have everything! Any one fancy a over there if I succeed with this plan?
  4. A message for Andi ..... check your personal messages .....
  5. Many thanks to all who set up the Club area at Stoneleigh - Saturday was quite well attended by club members considering. Covid really messed up planning for all this year and the Show was therefore so much 'smaller' and less well attended generally. Even so, great food and company ... thanks. A couple of shots of our area.
  6. Very helpful information there Derek ... thanks.
  7. Oops .. deleted quote. I would like to purchase an excellent burger during the day please, as I unfortunately need to return home late afternoon/early evening. No over-nighting this year I am afraid.
  8. Excellent news ..... family social event cancelled at the last minute .... I am free to attend Stoneleigh on the Saturday .... Yipee!! Danielle - what time of day are we talking burgers, daytime or evening?

    Parts for Sale

Pair of used stainless louvred vents fit 90x300 hole. £20 the pair A very good morning to you Robert. Unless anyone has already requested purchasing the vents from you, I would be delighted to offer you £20. Although I had intended attending Stoneleigh next week, another social commitment has interfered with my plan! If the vents are still available, I am in Wylde Green and can arrange to collect from you anytime .. no rush from my end. cheers Alan
  10. I was ..... until a clash of social calendar was discovered ..... very disappointed to be missing the event.
  11. Thanks Dan. I’ll check their website again nearer the time I make plans to take a trip out there. Having never visited the venue I would prefer to drive over to experience the place and try (an expensive?) coffee and see what they have to offer, rather than pay for a possible interesting experience as my first trip there. I am taking a gamble, as undoubtedly on the occasion I do drive out there there will be very limited vehicles attending as people will be at work! But once familiar with its location and set up and programme for the paid evening and weekends diary, I can then consider whether to pay to share the experience with other interesting vehicle owners. It is really useful though reading your view on the location ... thank you. Just discovered my wife has already booked an event that clashes with the Stoneleigh weekend!!!!! Not feeling happy at the moment.
  12. Hi Steve ... Once the better, glorious weather returns I'll give you a shout and we'll try to arrange a day to take a trip out there and meet up.
  13. A very good day everyone. All being well I intend to spend the Saturday at Stoneleigh ... I hope there will be room form us all in the area allocated, looks much smaller than the space we have taken up in the past. In the meantime I have a question about Caffeine & Machine at Ettington. I have never been there and have only recently seen adverts for the venue. Is it somewhere worth a visit and if so, when is the best or worst time to take a trip out there? It is the unticketed times that currently appeal most! Therefore a Monday to Friday am/pm not evening.
  14. Robert ... on this occasion I am very disappointed that I already own a hoodie. If I didn’t, then I would pay your asking price without hesitation. You have put together an outstanding example of a hoodie and I sincerely hope that it’s next owner will cherish it, love it ... and drive it. Congratulations Sir ... a superb example of quality engineering.
  15. David, arrive at the start a good hour plus early to give you time to enjoy viewing all the other vehicles and chat to and join up with other kit owners for the route. Don’t worry about your set off time, just leave with one or more of the group so as to be able to drive with them and use their navigation. Fingers crossed for your weather ... and have a great day.
  16. It will be great if events are given the go-ahead ... if safe ... but unless they can split the event into batches of 30 people and presumably no general public gathering to enjoy the vehicles ... I don't see how. We're all looking forward to being allowed back out and driving and socializing. Fingers crossed . Good luck though.
  17. David ... the navigation notes they provide are really clear and easy to follow. Like you, my wife had no interest at all in accompanying me hence my son very happily came along. A child can navigate from the route given out. If you join up with another vehicle ... or two just let them navigate and enjoy the drive. Other than that invite a mate ... or take a good neighbour ... anyone will enjoy the occasion. Sorry part of this response is to Neil. I remember you saying a couple of years ago you were considering entering. Find a way if possible ... another magazine article here.
  18. Hi David. I participated in the event in 2019 - took one of my lads with me , who happens to live in London so overnight accommodation was layed on, and we had a good time. It was a nicely organised event and on the run down to Brighton we took time out to stop off at a cousin's place for tea and cake! It would have been even better had we known other participants and been able to partake with them ... but ... that was not to be the case. Might be over priced for what you do/get out of the day but well worth the experience as a one off. I would enjoy the event a second time ... if they offered me free entry!! We had beautiful weather, which was just as well as I didn't take the roof with me ... How does the event meet the covid ... 30 allowed to meet ... instructions though??? We are not all allowed to meet up without restrictions until June 21st are we? Enjoy the day(s) - I see you live down south so no long motorway run to get there the night before. It is worth contacting the organisers and asking for info on anyone from your locality who is entering and making contact with them if possible prior to the event. Covid planning permitting ... enjoy!!! All the best Alan

    Air horns

Couldn't ask for a more detailed wiring diagram ... superb response. Many thanks 'Sparepart'.

Thank you Bob. Thank you Martin.

    Air horns

Thank you Martin. It was actually late 60s when I had my landy ... so same sort of time! Your description sounds like the wiring diagram in my post. When I am given my birthday present ... I'll wire it up on the bench prior to fitting into hoodie. Many thanks. The horns will naturally only be used legally ....

    Air horns

Now that I see the steering wheel as a steering wheel ... Doh! ... it makes a lot more sense - thanks Ian Back in the day .... a long, long time ago ... I had triple tone horns on my series I Land Rover which I could switch between a single (combined) note or 'musical' tone - I wondered whether the switch shown on the compressor might facilitate this option? Does anyone have triple tone horns that allow this choice (legal or illegal sound) ...

    Air horns

    Thank you Ian and Steve.

    Air horns

Gentlemen ... apologies ... and Ladies, My original twin air horns on the car have now given up the ghost (after 24 years) and are in need of replacement. I have purchased a set of triple horns ... for my to give me for my birthday!!! So will not be fitting them until the weather improves (I have no garage) The wiring diagram below came with the horns, before I get anywhere near trying to fit them and wire them up, I am seeking your advice. I have pencilled a few questions on the wiring diagram as I am uncertain as to exactly what is what. Could anyone please give me a better indication as to how best to wire them up before I am allowed anywhere near the 'present'? Many thanks ... and please, please let covid bugger off in order that we can once again grace the roads of the UK with our wonderful cars.
