I maybe wrong but I believe the 90 adapter is held in by the same circlip so you will still have the same problem. It took me ages to locate mine and then had to remove it the next week. keep going it will eventually go in

Anouther CVH while I save up for the next engine as I'm not overly impressed with the performance. I've also modified the engine bay so I could upgrade to a zetec like Dandan's.

finally finished replacing the engine and other mods. No more smoke and a lot more resonsive to the throttle ( Thanks Martin for your generosity) A drive out in it today was a joy and with the screen fitted I managed to keep up with the traffic with out crying One happy bunny

Thanks for the info. It seems more serious as i've just spent 3 days changing the head and its still doining it no 1 plug is still oiling up. Going to take a compression reading as soon as ive wooked out how to use the remote starter. ( 2 wires how hard can it be )

Hope some one can help. after using my car for a couple of days it started smoking badly at start up from cold. Several people told me it was the valve stem seals leaking as this was common on 1.8 cvh engines. so I replaced the seals. Sunday I drove to Diss for the Easthoods meet (lovely people wish I could have stade longer) and It smoked for the first couple of miles. thinking it was clearing out the last of the oil wasn't to bothered. This morning started it up more blue smoke am I on the right track in thinking this can only be caused by a) a scored vavle or a cracked valve guide if niether is it more serious. Roberts back from the pub and says that Compaq have an issue with this and may have extended their warranty to cover it. Try asking where you bought it or the Compaq web site ( I've looked but couldn't see anything) This could be the culprit mini pci-e

My sons compaq is doing the same (staying orange) he's using a wireless dongle to get around it. He say's its the wireless bit in the laptop which is the problem and can be replaced (around £20 off the internet)

VIN inspection on tuesday but couldn't get registered untill young lady had gone back to office ( about 4ish)Finally got my Tax disc today after sending a fax asking for it as they don't have a direct line to call. Went on the first drive with large smile on face. Found out on return rear number plate had fallen off at the end of the road . less haste more speed?

So nervise this morning didn't want to go Passed without a hitch at 2:30 today :yahoo: very painless infact. the inspectors at Norwich seem very frendly and fair. Thanks to everone on the forum especially Graham as without his meeting and drinks might have thrown in the towel. Thanks also to all those at Donnington (Renault weekend) giving the nessacery boot up bum. Only have DVLA hoops to jump now. Hopefully registered and taxed start of July.
