  1. The block is also available if you want it. I am pretty sure it is a 205 (I will ckeck tonight) but as I said it was seized up. looks like it was sat for a long time with water in the bores.
  2. When I bought our latest project from e-bay it came with 2 engines. The one I am not using was seized and the bores were all rusted up. The bottom end looks like scrap but the cylinder head looks like it could be refurbed OK. I have stripped it down and given it a good clean and inspection. There is some pitting on the valve seats as can been seen in the photos. I am no expert so not sure how good/bad it is. It is now loosely reassembled but definitely needs to be stripped again and rebuilt properly. Link for photos: http://s826.photobucket.com/user/Hood994dwp/library/Pinto%20unleaded%20head?sort=3&page=1 £40 if anyone wants it. Thanks Richard
  3. Well done - should not take to much work for you to get a pass now. We are just starting our 2B build and hope to be taking it to Kidderminister for IVA next spring. Richard
  4. Hi, We have decided not to use the Recaro seats that came with out 2B kit so selling for £50. Pair of new and unused seats with seat runners etc still fitted. Been well covered and dry stored. Thanks Richard
  5. Just got the chassis number for our new 2B build from DVLA Worcester - sent a very short letter - I am building a kit car please issue me a chassis number. They sent me the number within a couple of days on a DVLA form all signed & dated etc so should avoid any arguments in the future so long as I stamp it onto the chassis correctly. Richard
  6. Matt is responsible for all the electrics (his degree is in Electronic Engineering) and he is also one of the 3 nominated drivers. Spoke to him last night and they are having an amazing time. He says there is such a buzz with so many teams from around the world all with very different budgets, and some with many years of experience but all helping each other to sort out problems etc. Richard
  7. My son Matt is at Silverstone this weekend with the Exeter University FS team. They have worked incredibly hard to get the car finished in time for the competition and have pasted all but one of the scrutineering tests today so once they have sorted out the brake balance tomorrow they should be cleared to race on on Saturday & Sunday. Very excited about going to to see him race. Richard
  8. Good point - just realised its old news as well - can't beleive I missed it. I registered 3 kit cars at Worcester and never had a ny problems so I guess I have been lucky. We are just starting a 2B build so it looks like its going to be fun next year when it comes to IVA and registration.
  9. Is it true that all regional DVLA offices are closing at end of 2013? Came accross the below news article by accident http://www.worcesternews.co.uk/news/9801330.DVLA_office_closure_confirmed_for_2013/ Hows that going work? everything being done in Swansea?
  10. Willem, Looks like we are in the same boat. My son and I just bought a virtually unstarted 2B kit from e-bay. I built my first 2B in 2001 and have put a couple of cars through the SVA but this new project will be our first attempt at the IVA. I am pretty sure that cars with the stainless steel and fibre glass combo rear arches have passed IVA but you have to make sure the whole wheel/tyre is inside the arch. Seat mountings and inner seat belt anchors definitely need to be "solid" so we are thinking about adding some additional structure to the chassis that runs from one side to the other under the floor and up from the centre to the top tunnel tube. My son is moving back from university soon and will be living at home again so we thought it would good to have another project but I am not allowed to start until he is home in August. I am itching to get in the garage and get started. Richard
  11. In Oct 2001 we collected our Robin Hood 2B from the RHE factory. Today we picked up a virtually unstarted 2Bplus kit. Here we go again ! Richard
  12. I swapped to A-plan aswell this year. £99 for 5000 miles, £5000 car value, no breakdown cover. £15 lower than Pickles. Richard

I have used Emerald and DTA, both very good. If anything the Emerald software is a little easier to use.

  15. Where abouts are you - may be we can meet half way. Richard
  16. Just ordered myself a new pair of safety specs off e-bay, memories rushing back of my day spent in A&E a few years back having crap from under the car scraped off my eye ball.
  17. I am near Broadway, Worcestershire. About 20 mins from M5 junction 9. Richard
  18. I have set of 5 part used A048's for sale. Taken off my 2B this morning Two off the front have very light wear with 4mm of tread left The spare also has very light wear with 4mm of tread left The two rears are pretty well worn but still have 1-2mm of tread. When new they have 4.6mm of tread so there is plenty of life left in them and cost £200 each. I have loaded some pictures on photobucket: http://s826.beta.photobucket.com/user/Hood994dwp/library/A048 £200 for the lot. Thanks Richard
  19. I am also a member of the Bristol Pegasus Motor Club. They offer membership with a lower fee if you opt to receive the club mag electronically. Richard

  21. Pics of my first attempt at a half door. Used an old tent pole for the top rail. Richard
  22. Hi, I just started making some half doors and a surrey top. I got some of this: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/140713611013?ssPageName=STRK:MEWNX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1497.l2649 When it arrived I thought it would be too thin but decided to give it a go anyway. Its easy to work with and very stong. My top tip is to use a soldering iron to cut the fabric, its really easy to get a good straight cut and it heat seals straight away to stop it fraying at the edges. I have just about finished the first half door - waiting for the rain to clear away so that I can take it out for a test drive. Will post a couple of pics later. Richard
  23. Carb balancer for sale. I have had it a few years but only used a few times. Its the Midlock as sold by Butonpower http://www.burtonpower.com/jsas400.html £30 posted Thanks Richard
  24. Hi John, Its been a few years since I last went to Barkston but have recently bought my Robin Hood back and just rejoined the club. Please add me to the list if there is a place available. Have to decide if I take the Robin Hood or the Firefox. Thanks Richard
