    3.38diffs

They are certainly hard to get hold of as there are quite a few wanting them over on Locost Builders for their BEC's, i'm hanging on to mine. Plus some are after 3.14s also not too common possibly. Mike
  6. A couple of years ago i bought a Cheap Valley 2.5kw twin take off 25ltr receiver compressor , could have done with a larger receiver though for useing air tools etc, but for spraying was ok , the only weak point is the reed valve system as i have had to replace it twice up to now , i had to make them out of some spring steel, so bought a set of spring steel scrapers used for body filler, but very cheap and does the job, plus enough material to make a few more spares for when it goes again. Mike
  7. I have 6 Zeus "D" fasteners on mine 4 on the front and one either side but i have thought of fitting 2 hinges to the front that have removable pins (but replaced with split pins so they cant drop out), that way it will hinge up but will also be quickly removeable, its juat a thought at the mo as i have a pair of hinges left over from a job , they came from Screwfix if my memory serves me right. My next project is to fit hinges to my numberplate , so it can swing both ways just waiting for the hinges to arrive. Mike
  8. I have the same concerns as you Mowerman , re top ball joints as i have been trying to raise my ride hight a little as i only had 75mm ground clearance to the sump so i raised it to 90mm and now with not a lot of movement left, although not at the top of the travel 6mm more to go on the shocks, i dont like the look of it so i am going to lower it to approx 80mm ground clearance and learn to live with it . Last year i raised the engine 16mm (the max it would go before touching the bonnet) by adding ally spacers under the engine mounts as it only had about 60mm ground clearance which brought it up to approx 75mm. Running On 2 Cylinders

Pleased you got it sorted Baz, it may well be worth looking into getting a new float shut off valve if you have any more trouble with it , i have changed many in the past as part of a carb service on many sports cars as the needles do wear and can cause problems. I would advise you keep an eye on that carb as if the needle face is marked it may not shut off fully and could cause flooding. Also not to forget the float may well have got stuck. Mike
  10. Now thats very nice and just as i remember them but i was only 15 at that time , i had to wait another 11 yrs before i managed to get one but a new S4 it was for me. Mike

    Running On 2 Cylinders

Is the fuel getting through to that carb if not check to see if there is a filter fitted in the inlet banjo, as it could be full of scap. Also seeing as it has been left for a while the float valve could be stuck in the shut off position thus allowing no fuel through. A tap on the top may loosen it if you are lucky. Mike
  13. Have you painted the intermal garage walls white by any chance as this is a great help when attempting to light it in the dark winter months as you can never have enough light. Mike
  14. After you have moved your car mum and dad will be complaining that they never see you Mike
  15. All depends what loom you have , if its a sierra one the early models its blue/black tracer, later models its brown/white tracer as per my circuit diagram info if i have read it right. Mike

    Speedometer

VDO Vision speedometers are electronic and fully programmable to match all vehicle setups. Compatible with the vast majority of OEM and aftermarket speed sensors, these speedometers are easy to install and program to suit. The LCD odometer shows Total recorded distance and, by pressing the front mounted rubber button, Trip distance. The Trip odometer counts up 999.9 (miles or kilometres depending on speedometer main unit of scale) and is resetable. The Total odometer can not be reset and will store recorded mileage without the need for a constant voltage supply. You may well have a problem with your speedo if the above is correct. You could always contact ETB Instruments TEL: +44 (0) 1702 601055 / FAX: +44 (0) 1702 601056 / EMAIL: info@etbinstruments.com for more info. Mike
  18. If i remember rightly cold they are a high resistance and on temp rise the resistance drops, thus the temp gauge needle rises. Mike
  19. If its a Pinto , it will be high on the block to the left of the Dizzy by the inlet manifold. Mike

    Speedometer

Is it i wonder a cable driven speedo with and electronc displayed milage reading , if so has it got a 12v power supply to it ? Mike
  21. I would suggest that you go along to your local spray shop and they will be able to match it , they may even have a swatch for a quick identification , i have had the same problem with my yellow nose cone but i have still not found the right colour code it is near to Golden Yellow RAL 1004 though. Have a look Here for the list of RAL colour names and numbers used for gel coats. Mike

    Video Cameras

I have got two ATC'S a 2K and a 5k, i prefere the 5k as it has a screen on the back so you can see what you are filming plus it will take a larger SD card 4gb. Ian if you want to have a play with a 2K you are quite welcome to come pick it up. Try before you buy one eh. Nigel i made a mag mount out of the base of a broken toy punch ball that swore when hit, attaches nicely to the scuttle top behind the screen. Mike
