If it's essentially a stretched Beetle then the main focus of the IVA will be the extension and reinforcement of the floorpan. It needs to be fully seam welded anywhere it's been cut and jointed and some additional reinforcements to stop it bending in the middle.

If it's only got 4 seats and will only carry 4 people, then 4 seatbelt mountings shouldn't be difficult. If it's going to carry more than 4 people it'll get difficult. You'll need to demonstrate the extra seats and belts are mounted to an acceptable standard and also that the tyres, brakes and suspension are up to the additional weight. This will be difficult on an older build but not impossible.

It doesn't matter how clued up you are on IVA, you just need to convince the examiner on the day. It might be more cost effective to submit for IVA, address the fail points and then fix and retest. Pre-empting what the examiner might fail and paying someone to do work beforehand and finding it wasn't needed is pointless.

Can you put a ballpark price please, as rule 3.

To be honest, they should already be  familiar with what's needed for IVA. Getting someone else to compile a list of work is just adding to an already expensive job.

Modified beetle floorplans aren't very IVA friendly and you're likely to end up with a Q plate.

You started this post in the committee event discussion area. I've moved it to the general event area so everyone can see what they missed.

And extend your steering column so the hazard switch and the stalks aren't under the bonnet. Otherwise you'll need very long arms or very short legs to drive it comfortably.

Make the dash the full width of the car.

Make your dash 25mm taller so it sits under the back edge of the bonnet.

Probably not a statement to make on a public forum. Check down the back of the sofa in case you just misplaced it.

Quite a bit of info in this thread.

If you know the person's forum username (which is what I put in the welcome post) and want to sent a message, click the 3 bar icon at top right of the screen.
