    Newark Show

Lot of first's today.... First time taking the 2B on the motorway First time diving over 40 miles First time Taking the car to a show. Really enjoyed the day, met loads of like minded nutters.... And picked up plenty of tips for the winter work load ahead. Also really pleased that the car made the 140 mile round trip without anything falling off or breaking. Can't wait for the next show now. Let's hope the weather continues so I can put some more miles on.
  2. Hey guys, You lot are giving me a complex... I only have 1 3/4" clearance using the ally RS sump. Mine is on sliding pillar, so would this give a lower ride??
  3. Sound good to me mate. The more the Merrier....besides the more people there is to push the faster I'll go!!!
  4. Hi Colin Area T3 for me as well. See you there.
  5. Hi The other half has decided I needed to have a clear out. ....something about decorating....aaaah! I have a pile of Complete kit car mags from 2007 onwards wanting a good home. If anyone is interested I'll bring them along to Newark on Sunday. Let me know.
  6. Got my entrance details through today. How many others are going?
  7. Hi Carl, Could meet you at J35 at 8.30 on Sunday if ok? cheers Terry
  8. Hi, Not wishing to count my chickens etc but long range weather forcast looks damn good for the weekend. I will be driving down Sunday morning, anyone fancy meeting up?
  9. Had a lucky escape yesterday when I found that the NS front cycle wing bracket had cracked and was only hanging on by a thread. Yes I know....it's been posted on here a million times that the original design brackets on a 2B slidding pillar are not too good...but as I had already built up the suspension before reading these. I thought sod it, it won't happen to me........! Guess I'm going to be busy this weekend to get ready for Newark.... Lesson learn't....read the posts first before jumping in with both feet!!!!
  10. With Talk talk so get 8meg Broadband, free national 24/7 and international calls for £20/ month including line rental.....
  11. W ell done mate. You made a good choice and the blood sweat and tears will be worth it....honest! Definately worth the grin factor. Cheers Terry
  12. Practically neighbours!!! Only 5 mins from J36 so meeting up would be fine. We can sort out finer details nearer the time but all sound good to me. Cheers Terry
  13. I,m planning to be there on the Sunday also, may be we can meet up to drive there? Might even take my hood packed in the boot with me, once they've experimented on yours they can have a go at mine.....??? If you don't ask......!! Cheers Terry
  14. Hi, If you are at Newark or the Sheffield festival of transport show then I could meet with you. I have just fitted the doors to mine (pretty simple to do!) and hope to have a go at the roof in the next few weeks. So I may be able to show you or help you out as I'm not a million miles away. PM if your interested. Cheers Terry
  15. Sending my application off this weekend. Hope to see a few of you guys there also. cheers Terry
  16. Hope to make this one at long last. Be good to put some faces to the names...! I've built up a bit more confidence in the car now and am pretty sure that it should make it in more or less one piece. Think I'll also give the kebab a miss this time though! Hope to see you guys there. Cheers Terry
  17. Hi, Might be interested as my 2b is now on the road. All being well, I'll plan to be there. Be good to have a few hoodies there! cheers Terry
  18. Hi Steve, No problems. Have sent you a PM cheers Terry
  19. Hi Steve, I have just replaced my Dash (one I specifically did for SVA). So now have it spare. If you can come and collect (looks like you are only 40 miles ish away!) it's yours for the price of the Sierra clocks (£15) or beer tokens...what ever. I have put a photo below. Like I said very simple, but all works fine, also have the Sierra dash connector to wire it up. If you are interested then PM me. Got me through SVA with no problems, should be fine for IVA... Dash photo fitted to car...http://i556.photobucket.com/albums/ss5/terrybarker Cheers Terry
  20. Yes, pretty sure they are a matched pair...
  21. Hi, I have a small but niggling problem with my speedo. I originally had the Sierra clocks fitted, and it was noted during SVA that the Speedo was very inaccurate (only just passed as it was reading 70mph on clocks but only doing 57mph on rolling road!) At least I shouldn't get done for speeding....... I have since fitted a set of Capri clocks and seem to be getting almost exactly the same issue.. I have 14" wheels with 60 profile tyres and using a type 9 gearbox. Anyone have any suggestions? Cheers Terry
  22. Hi, I was hoping to make my 1st meet tonight as I have now just completed the car, however looking at weather (no roof yet fitted!) Think I will postpone until next meet. Nick think we PM'd each other some time ago, Perhaps next meet (weather permitting) we can meet up somewhere as this will be the cars first real outing......(i.e. I may need a push!...hopefully not!!) Looking forward to meeting you all sometime soon and comparing notes over a shandy... cheers Terry
  23. Cheers, I thought it would be a simple one.... Also managed to get a snap of the simple Dash that needs a new home(below) If anyones interested let me know. All in working order and totally SVA friendly. Comes with Sierra clocks and connector/ loom A few snaps of the car post SVA. Hope to see a few of you guys at Newark Cheers Terry
