an alternator will output the same voltage, it just puts a bigger load on the engine if the battery is low, the fact that it is droping to 12v means you are now reading your battery volts and not what the alternator is putting out, an intermiten fault will ither be the voltage regulator or a lose conection/broken iner wire

are you sure that was all he was doing just remember what happened when my SWMBO turnd up at stoneleigh he wanted to tarmac my pitch before i but my tent up

just got home from work and thought i would go from a nice drive as the weather is good only to find some b******ds had broken into chrissies car rolled it back broken into the garrage and nicked all my tools,spare parts, and my mini off road bike (which they wheeled across my bonnet nice of them) luckly they didnt take the car or the engine crain. so if you see a lot of tools and kit car parts going cheep on ebay please let me know they did take 1 of these http://www.custom-chrome.co.uk/shop/catalog/product_info.php?products_id=55 in a 5" so hopefuly not many people down south will be selling these strange tho they didnt take the standar RH mainifold so they must of know what they were looking at any help would be appreciated
