  1. Thanks for all the replies. The calipers i have are Hi-spec ultralights, the R clips are already in but its these little suckers that i am not sure where they go. any ideas. I think they hook up from under the roll pins and hook over the brake pad to stop vibration if that makes any sense. its taken me half the day to work out how to re size a picture so my apologies if its small
  2. Busby, Thank for the reply and picture, unfortunately I was after the the hi-spec caliper spring/ clip fitting not the sierra one as per the picture.but thank for taking your time for having a look for the previous pic/post.
  3. Hi, I have just bought some hi-spec front calipers for my zero. Fitting seems stright forward however I am bu#@erd if I can figure out how to fit the retaining clips or where they go. Could somebody please point me in the right direction please. I looked at this for 10 mins then gave up and had a beer. It probably is so obvious when you think about it. Thanks for any replies.

    Sad But Happy

Finally my wife persuaded me to sell my beloved focus st at the week end so popped it int he autotrader and sold it within 12 hours Got the full asking price which was nice. but will be really sad to see it go tomorrow night. But on the up side now i have the money to finish my kit car, roll on so hopefully with a bit of luck should have my car on the road by mid summer this year. time permitting which puts a BIG smile on my face. so get prepared for lots of stupid question coming your way.

    Garage Clearance

I will take the steering wheel boss off you please I will pm you my details
  16. Andy i think you got the wrong end of the stick mate opening the TRVs to your rads will in fact will drop the volume to your manifold as stated by Nigel if you close them down you will be able to force water to your manifold, either through a lock shield valve or your TRV valve. As Nigel states it is a room temperature device but will also reduce volume, as the orifce inside the valve reduces so does the volume of water coming out. You said the mixing valve was full of debris. check your 2 zone valve these to will no doubt be full of debris and need cleaning out.also. if you take the actuators of the valve body and pump the pin up and down this some time frees up the debris sat behind the valve seats. most 2 port valve have a low KV value and will only allow small volumes of water through them. the smaller the KV value the smaller the internal orifice of the valve body prone to get blocked up easily.. This tend to happen when you have low flow areas such as under floor heating system which do not get used all year round. the sediment settles in the low points of the system and and when they get turn on the water pick up the the sediment in the water and become in suspension and get stuck behind the valve seats and reduce flow rate. In that case you will need to back flush your under floor pipe work to remove the settle sediment within the pipe. don,t forward flush through the system as this will again get stuck in your control valves or you could remove them for this Is there any binder points on your system you could take a pressure drop across the manifold. if your getting 4 l/m ish closed circuit it will not be your integral pump, it would suggest a return issue to your main pipework / manifold something blocked / / not fully open/ controlling. has the manifold got a internal stat and what is it set to? or has this just been connected directly to your central heating system. if this is the case once the room stat is satisfied the boiler will switch off before all area are satisfied (hot) if internal stat is fitted More than this will control your mixing valve and open and close the valve and inject heat in as required and then will close when return temperature is satisfied. Its a process of elimination. By closing some TRV this will force increase the volume of water to the manifold the least favored circuit to help the process of elimination. once this is done check that the actuator head has driven the control valve fully open usually pin down on 2 port valves and pin up on 3 and 4 ports but can vary, if not you can manually depress the pin your self and hold it there for a while and see if that has an effect on the zone circuits temp. if no luck with that do the same with each zone control one at a time and see if volume increase or temperature increase on the return pipe.
  17. Hi Andy, Have you checked that your 2 port control valves fully opening up on the manifold on temperature demand. also have you got all your TRV fully open on your radiator circuits as this will starve you manifold if not balanced out correctly?
  18. Hi Geoff I got a mate coming over from Melbourne early jan i could smuggle a few bit in his suite case for you i am sure he wouldn't mind. i spent 4 years living in Melbourne myself.God i miss my XR6 ute happy days
  19. Cheers for all your replies, Going to order some up tonight i think, I thinks some carbon effect look ones will look good against the polished bonnet. i will stick some picks up when i done. Thanks again
  20. Hi I am thinking about fitting some areo bonnet catches to my zero and was wondering if anybody on here has used them before and weather or not they are IVA friendly. That last thing i want to do it cut 4 big holes in the side of the bonnet they find out that they will not pass the IVA test. its been a long time since i have done some work on the car and went to Exeter kit car show and found some more inspiration to get the car moving again. there where some cracking examples on display but not any 7s sporting the areo bonnet catches look. is this for a reason? Any advise will be gratefully excepted Thanks
  21. i think these are the same as the ones on kit spares but a bit cheaper see link below. http://www.powerfuluk.com/products/other-vehicle-lights-headlights---crystal/hl873kit-car-kit-car-round-7-drl-style-led-headlights-(-pair-).html
  22. Hi Steve, I dont know about the bearings its self but when i bought my wheel bearing from ford the grease seal in the kit was the wrong size (to big) when i took it back to ford they were not much use so got my money back and took the grease seal with me to Camberly auto factors and they physically compared this to the one in the box. fitted no problem. No doubt somebody else will be able to tell you about the bearing
  23. Mark your a top man i will buy you some beers at the next show. i will pm you Big thanks Neil
