  1. That had me in stitches ! Thanks for lightening my day Simon.
  2. I thought I would just get the car out of the garage to "Air" it a bit and clean the garage. Then I realised I could tighten up a minor coolant leak and so on. I then thought about testing the brakes - hard. Of course - I forgot about all the loose screws and opened socket set sitting on the battery shelf .... I then spent the next half hour finding all these bits to ensure I hadn't missed any that had fallen into the engine bay !! One of those D'Oh moments Simon.
  3. I seem to recall they were stainless rivets but I'm not sure of the size - probably 3.5mm or 1/8" I think. Simon.
  4. I found that the plates that were given were far too large. I cut them to fit just to the bend in the wheel arch and held them in place with clekos while I used the other holes in the plate to drill out the rest of the fibreglass holes. Don't forget to put trim around the edge before riveting them down. IVA man might not like them if he spots that ! You can find some photos of mine on my web site. Check out "October" http://www.sj-bradley.talktalk.net/ Simon.
  5. Do you have any photos of these folders? I'd be interested to see how you would make one. ...Or plans... Simon.

    Iva Fail

That's when you find out that the 30 ltr tank has suddenly become a 10 ltr tank Simon.
  7. I'd start by getting over the speed bumps Simon.
  8. That is a brilliant idea. I would not mind doing something like this as it also helps open up more job prospects at the same time. Pity that the UK won't follow this. It's probably too late to implement as there would be such an outcry against it. (My opinion only though) Simon.

  10. You need both of them. VOSA for the IVA test which currently is £450 and a £90 re-test fee which I fortunately avoided to get the IVA certificate. Then DVLA another £55 plus tax to get the registration. I have managed to get through the first part and I'm still waiting for DVLA. So that's £505 just for red-tape bureaucracy ! Simon.

    Ecu Remap - Idle

I'm not sure, but what is the Target Idle RPM setting on the Idle Control Tab set to? There should be some conditions there that initiate the idle control stability for the maps. Simon.
  12. Yes, According to DVLA you are allowed one major reconditioned part and still get a new registration. Simon.
  13. I have done something very similar and the car has just passed the IVA on 31st Jan. You can see my build diary at http://www.sj-bradley.talktalk.net/ The basic kit that GBS do is around half the cost after you add all the other 'New' bits to it. I am still waiting for the DVLA to get back to me about the registration and I'm hoping that it will get the desired new registration. (It may not be the desirable 12 plate though - could be a 61 plate instead.) Simon.

    Powder Coating

That would be very useful to see. Especially how you hang the items as well. Simon.
  15. Ah - ok. Maybe it just *looked* skewhiff then Simon.
  16. I usually go to Spain twice a year to visit family there. Christmas and Summer are the two occasions. I even rode the motorbike (when I had one) through France and Andorra camping on route. Now that I've built the hood.... I don't think it will be fully ready for this year though. It needs some local "running in" to sort out any problems first. *IF* the DVLA finally get round to giving me the Registration However, luck may change... Simon.
  17. Ain't that right ! When I visit my family in Torrevieja, most of the people round there all speak English ! As for the boot problem - I built the Zero and I had to create a shelf to cover the fuel tank in that too. Fibreglass ? Unlikely I think. Simon.
  18. Hola, Mi familia viven en Torrevieja tambien. Que un mundo pequeño ! A donde vive su mamá ? Hablo Español tambien pero necesito practicarlo ! Gracias, Simon.
  19. I think I understand what you're getting at. However, I have rear disc brakes and it's the two wishbones that are part of the Zero chassis kit. I hope that the camber doesn't change with suspension movement. I can check tomorrow but the car is on axle stands at the moment and I'm not sure how accurate that will be. As for level surface - well I *hope* the garage floor is flat Thanks for the help, Simon.
  20. I wondered about the camber on the rear before. Can you tell me please, do these cmaber wedges come in different sizes / angles? And what is the best way to find out what the camber currently is on the zero? Thanks, Simon.
  21. The ones that are fitted on my car at present were the first out the mold and are a lot thinner than the ones I make now. I used tape to fit these but I am thinking of bonding an aluminium support inside for the next set I make. (Especially as I want to make them yellow this time Simon.
  22. I have now made several copies of the Sierra steering column covers as you can see from the pictures. If you are interested I am currently doing them at £15 plus £10 postage. I am doing the first TEN at this price though. Simon.
  23. Oh - I went for the option of the plug and play loom and the separate engine loom for the Zetec and emerald ECU. Simon.
  24. As to questions 1 and 2 - no idea. 3) I drilled out a little hole in the cycle bracket and passed the repeater wire through that. It's not easy but it gives the wire some protection from flying stones under the wing and then tie wrapped along the upper wishbone and looped under the mounting point allowing enough so that there aren't any tight spots when turning etc. You can just about see it here: http://www.sj-bradley.talktalk.net/Kit-Car-Progress/October/images/077.jpg Hope that helps. Simon.

    Powder Coating

Do you have any pictures or a design for this "oven" that you created? It sounds just like what I need. Simon.
