  1. I have a very good cylinder head and an old stainless silencer, but I'm in the midlands. I was thinking 50 for the head and 20 for the silencer. Jez
  2. If you over lay the exhaust gaskets you'll see there not so much needs filing back. Jez

    Curborough

I wouldn't hold your breath I'm still waiting for Curborugh 2003 replacement video, tape supplied only had 20mins on it. They said they'd sent out new tape twice, I received nothing and have written off ever getting it. Jez

    Hood Poppers

I found some in the CO-OP haberdashery dept. came with tool to fit them as well. This was a few years ago though. Jez
  6. I've been building for a few months now and have come up with some ideas for surveys you see on here. 1 total length of cuts during build, 0-100mm, 101-200mm etc 2 total blood loss, 0-5ml, 5-10ml, 11-15ml etc 3 total number of obscenities, 0-10k, 10k-20k ..... 1000k Totals so far 1 120mm 2 15ml 3 1420 Jez
  7. What about fitting one of the seat belt anchors on top of tube and other underneath?? Just a thought.

    Steering Rack

Don't you mean ZEUS. Anyhow fitting the rack, you have a Ubolt left side obvious I hope, right side you need a bracket. A very nice chap sent me one he had spare that I think RHSC supplied, someone also mentioned a MK2 Escort rack mount fits. The brkt is a simple humpback bridge shape made with (guessing) 3mm plate 30mm wide. I've got my rack fitted now, no need for spacers or wedges just had to tidy up the cut outs a bit and it sits nice and the steering shaft angle is fine. Jez
  9. Hi, trying to fit seatback panel and found that the tunnel is about 10mm different to the roll over bar which I'm sure is normal for a hood. The problem I have is the videos don't go into how to finish the panel there is just the 1st fit and then caption "more to follow", which there isn't. Without knowing how the panel is supposed to look when finished or attach I don't know where to adjust for best fit. Any chance of a little guidance. Thanks Jez
  10. They should run it in Birmingham again, their still allowed to have a road race after the last one. Don't fancy paying London prices plus race day markup could be £5 a pint and that aint funny. Jez
  11. Thanks guys lots to think about. Jez
  12. Hi I am looking at plumbing in an EFI to standard RHE tank. How have people got over needing a swirl pot, a takeoff off from the bottom of the fuel tank and a return. Jez

    14" Alloys

For sale £100. 5 RS alloys, 14" seven spoke good condition. 2 with new tyres 3 part worn.
  14. You could try the speedo cable of a 4 speed its about 6" shorter than 5speed g/b.
  15. I think their the brackets to stiffen up the cottom corners of the rear panel. After you've got your rear wings on with correct gaps around the wheels or to help get the correct gaps. Jez
  16. Problem solved, I dug out the RHE supplied alloys and they have a different offset 3/4" more outboard and the brackets are a nice fit. Its a shame they don't work with the doner wheels (7 spoke RS) they look a very strong bracket. I'm sure lots of owners of older cars could do with some new brackets, I know had a few brackets fall off my last Hood. Jez
  17. I used cortina hoses on my previous hood a MK1 S7, rad fitted close to viscous fan. Failing Cortina parts you could try for Capri hoses virtually the same setup as Cortina. Jez
  18. Hi, you'll find on most posts here that you should bin the rubber donut as they have been known to fail due to running too far out of line. You should be able to find a local prop remanufacturer who can swap the donut for a universal joint. Not sure what you mean by bolting at both ends, with UJs at each end of the prop you won't have any issues. Jez
  19. I think I'll call RHE to see if its missing from the kit, by the way which bracket did you use of the doner? Jez
  20. Can someone clarify how the cycle wing brackets fit, the new ones which come welded to the dummy strut insert. In the videos they show the bar inboard and state that the widest part of the dummy strut wedge is inboard. The parts I have got have the bar and smallest side of the wedge together, this would put the bar outboard which stops the wheels fitting on. Am I missing something obvious or are the brackets wrong. Jez
  21. Can someone help, should there be a bracket for the drivers side of the steering rack supplied in the kit addition to the "U" bolt, new type without extensions. If it is not supplied what have people used. Cheers Jez
  22. I know the two holes should line up but they dont their too far forward could be up to an inch. Should I trim the floor so the holes line up perfectly over the holes in the chassis or modify the holes in the floor. Jez
  23. Just started the build and hit a little snag, I've tried the floor in and the holes for the rear subframe dont line up with the chassis. I know I have two options enlarge the holes or trim some of the floor in front of the subframe mounting plates. I thought I should ask as the "ZEUS" videos give no information about the floor location, if its too far back or forward I think I may have problems in the future lining up foot panels etc. Thanks Jez

    Oil Change

I changed mine anually after winter lay up using Magnetec. If its been rebuilt or not I would do as you were told change oil at 500 miles, this would take any guess work out for a small price. You can then do an annual change. Jez
