    Bledin' Brakes

I've just filled the brake system with brake fluid, and bleed them (using a one man bleed kit, and the wife too, for good measure!). I've got drums at the back, and the brakes aren't worn in yet (car hasn't moved under it's own steam). All corners are giving a good stream of fluid, without any air bubbles that I can see. However, the pedal travels all the way to the floor (even without the engine on, and servo operating). It's quite firm, but if I really stand on it, it does go all the way. I'm guessing this isn't normal. Any ideas on what I should look at first?? Cheers James

    Mr Maestro

My first car was a really bright green corsa. At the time I was doing some work at a Ferrari dealership. Parking up next to a load of ferraris every morning was not very enjoyable....! Just needs a few neon lights underneeth at it'll be right up there
  9. He could have done with a bit of right hand down and he'd have been fine....!
  10. Do we need to put the grommets in for SVA, or is it just to make it look better??

    Think It Will Fit

I'd like to see that on a rolling road. Well, not that closely, actually....!
  13. Great, thanks guys Think I'll go for the couple of screws option, and add some sealant for good measure. Cheers James
  14. Maybe a question for the superspec guys.... How have you fitted your demisters? A couple of ways I can think of... 1. Just screw them to the top of the scuttle. This would be really easy, and would keep them tight to the scuttle. Downside is there are visible screws (I suppose you could cover them with caps / rubber etc though). 2. Make a support underneath which is fixed to the dashboard and / or scuttle. This would obviously involve a bit more work, but would probably give a neater finish. What's everyone else done? Anything different?? Cheers James
  15. Just in the process of doing mine - have the two bolts through the top of the scuttle, which are symmetrical and will put black plastic covers over them. Should look fine. I thought about trying to avoid the bolts through the top thing, but the mechanism is so heavy, any other way of doing it would require so much reinforcement to keep everything it the correct position, that I thought it wasn't worth all the hassle. With the spindles poking through the holes, and everything in place, I found that there wasn't actually that much room for adjustment - just keep the spindles from rubbing against the holes. But - I haven't fitted the screen yet so can't confirm that it all works fine yet. Let us know what you decide to do, and how you get on... Cheers James

    This Is Quite Funny

James needs....... ...to deliver a knockout. Fantastic!
  17. Ditto. Fan cuts in when temp gauge is smack in the middle. Don't forget to take the live feed direct from battery rather than a live which is only on when ignition is on (so that fan stays on when engine is off...)

  22. Congratulations! I did exactly the same (forgot to attach the earth towards the front of the wiring loom). It's a great feeling when she fires for the first time! Good luck with the rest of the build
  23. Jon That's exactly what I've done. But I haven't tried it with brake fluid in yet. I'm hoping the rubber seal will hold the 12mm copper pipe in securely - it was quite a tight fit... James
  24. Congratulations! Enjoy the summer....
