    Iva Pass For Superspec

Thanks guys. Sounds like I don't have to worry too much about the clutch. Just waiting to hear back from the DVLA....
  2. Hi Got my pass certificate today. Very happy! :D I didn't have that many fail points to fix, so it didn't take too long to go through them. One of the previous fail points was that the reflectors had to be at 90 degrees to the road, which I corrected. But now there's been some further guidance issued and they don't have to be 90 degrees, so I needn't have fixed it. Whilst at the test, my brake light stopped working. Luckily this was fixed by using some of the examiner's WD40 on the push switch - otherwise I'd have been walking home . Phew One thing that was worrying me about the ride (for both the first test and retest) was the fact that the engine seamed to lack a little power. Especially when really pushing the accelerator - it actually seamed to slow a little. After thinking about all the complex things it might be, I realised I was being a muppet and was actually pushing the brake as well as the accelerator with my big right foot. Now I'm driving it properly, it really flies and sound's great The clutch seams to make quite a racket though. It's fine when under load, but when coasting, or not in gear it makes some strange noises. I know RH did a bit of a bodge job on it, but didn't expect it to make so much clattering noise. Is this normal?! Went to Leeds DVLA this afternoon and got the forms to fill in etc. Unfortunately Leeds DVLA don't do home inspections, so I'll have to give some thought about how I can get my car to the build up inspection as I don't have a tow bar on my tin top Getting closer to getting it on the road though
  3. It doesn't work for anyone over 100 years though!
  4. No - you only need one. But if you have two they must be matching
  5. Mine was recorded at 814kg so pretty similar.
  6. Someone's done one here!

    Connector Block.

I used an earth connector block... suitably housed in something as it's all live!! You can get them from b&q etc.

    Liquids Under My Car

Or the red one could be from the power steering?
  9. Yep, that's the kind of world we live in! Why can we drive an untested vehicle to the IVA test, but have to trailer the passed vehicle to the dvla for built up inspection......?
  10. There are several product combinations giving the 36 figure... 1,1,36 (sum = 38) 1,2,18 (21) 1,3,12 (16) 1,4,9 (14) 1,6,6 (13) 2,2,9 (13) 2,3,6 (11) 3,3,4 (10) You need to use the other 2 pieces of info supplied to narrow it down to the correct answer.
  11. I've got the answer, but had to google it as I got too frustrated

    Breaking Record?

At less than a third of the previous record I don't imagine we'll do it!!
  14. Hi Gavin Thanks for the heads up. I also recall RH sending out a note about the bottom ball joint and how the whole thing could potentially unscrew it's self. They suggested drilling a hole through the wish bone plate where one of the 4 key hole slots is and putting a split pin though. Good luck in getting a replacement

    Any One Interested

Hi Ian Just wondered if there are any keyfobs left or if you've had any demand for a new run? I'm intersted in a couple! Cheers Harvs

    Iva Rear Lights

Hi Gavin Yes - you're quire right. Just checked my fail point list and it's Section 21.6 Rear reflectors must face squarely to the rear. So maybe a simpler fix would be to glue a new reflector (adjusting the angle somehow) over the existing one. Has anyone tried this approach?
  18. Thanks Peter. Unfortunately it's the mount for the gear box which is causing the sharp angle - even sharper than if it was just the tunnel side! I've done a bit more searching and come across this company here. I'm waiting the hear back if they can make a drive for the MT75, but likely still expensive! Harvs

Great, some good ideas there Thanks

    Iva Rear Lights

Hi Ian Yes - mine failed the IVA as they weren't at 90 degrees. I was planning to have a go at cutting some of the rubber away to try to get them vertical - I just hope it still looks presentable once I've done my hacking!
  21. Cheers Guys Europa are out of stock of the ford fitting unfortunately. I don't really fancy changing the dashboard to fit a new electronic speedo! Although, I agree it would be a better permanent solution.... Looks like I'll have to bite the bullet and hope that Speedy don't have any delays with getting suppliers from their new supplier.... Harvs
  22. Thanks for the info Mike. Burtons are £110 for the drive without the cable. Wow, maybe that's the going rate for an angle drive. Surely it can't cost that much to manufacture though - just a few machined parts. For that kind of cash you can buy a brand new pedal bike - which must have slightly more machined components! Maybe it's supply and demand driving the price up
  23. Hi I need to get an angle drive & speedo cable for my superspec (the steep angle coming out of the MT75 gearbox means that straight cables break pretty quickly). I've tried Speedy Cables. They are having supply problems on angle drives at the minute, so have a lead time of 3 weeks. Plus the price quoted was £110 plus postage. Ouch. Does anyone know of other suppliers who can supply angle drives and make up cables (and maybe a little cheaper!)?? Cheers Harvs
  24. Yes, it does. Thanks Andy. I got the car back on its axle stands last night so can start to get stuck into it tonight....
  25. There's an answer for everything Cheers!
