    Hoodstock Run Out

I have been asked by Andi to pull together a run out for Hoodstock. We will leave at around 10:30am on Saturday to be in time for lunch at the Plough Inn at 1pm, a bit earlier than last year, this will allow enough time for lunch to go down before the evening BBQ and the usual delays, fill ups, catch ups and empty outs! The route is similar to last year as everyone seemed to enjoy it. I have attached the menu for lunch, if you could choose your fayre and reply to this post with those choices. A £5 deposit will be required which I will collect and pass on, please let me know your preference for transferring money, PayPal or BACS are fine, I will then PM you my details. Enfield Pageant

Yes the numbers are down a lot, stands, stalls, but most of all kit car owners. This is the last dedicated Kit Car show in the country we need to support it. Use it or loose it springs to mind.
  7. When my gear box went bang I upgraded to a longer 1st gear. Thanks to Kerry. The casing needed modifying, but well worth it. I did a piece for the mag, I'll look it out.
  8. I can get my prop shaft out with engine and gearbox in situ. If you cut away the floor panel in front of the diff, just to give you that bit of extra wiggle room. But you will still need to take out the engine to get the box out.

    Stilton Run 2019

Thanks to all who joined in, I think its a great first run of the season. The food at The Bell was excellent and substantial portions. Marilyn and I had a great day out, you made it very easy for us.

    Stilton Run 2019

I'm not sure if this email has been sent out to all who are joining us on the Jim Barry Run on Sunday...... Dear all, I am emailing to confirm the final details for Sunday. May we request that all entrants arrive in Uppingham between 9.30am & 11.30am. This Year’s Run has been officially awarded a Certificate of Exemption for a Touring Assembly by Motorsport UK, formally the MSA and you will therefore be required to sign a declaration when signing on. I have attached a copy for you to read in advance ( there will be copies available on the day). Once you have arrived in Uppingham and parked as directed by the Marshalls, please ensure you head to the Falcon Hotel to sign on and collect your instructions of suggested routes, here you will have the opportunity to query anything or ask any final questions to the volunteers who will do their best to help. When arriving at the final destination in Stilton, coffee & tea will be available in the Marlborough Suite. There will be additional parking available at Colbrook Specialists, the Rolls Royce service garage, please do park respectfully and do not block their gate which needs to be accessible at all times in case of emergency’s. Finally, I thank you for choosing to spend drive it day supporting the Stilton Cheese Run and most importantly our charities, the Air Ambulance services. We look forward to seeing you and your cars on Sunday. Fingers crossed for sunshine ! Paul Roblett Signing on Declaration.pdf

    Stilton Run 2019

We met up HERE, (postcode LE15 9BF) last couple of years and it seemed to work well. It's a public road and it's on our route out of Uppingham. If we meet up there ready to depart at 11:00 am sharp then we should not be there more than 15 mins and should not upset the locals too much. We have tried to meet up and go into the centre together but we have been split up and not parked together anyway. Following the same route as last year, ie both loops, we will have enough time to stop off at the farm shop for essential supplies leaving at 12:45. Then its the the run down to Stilton for lunch at.......2:00pm. This is the same time as last year so we need to be away from the farm shop on time. Weather forecast is looking OK at the moment, should be a good first run out.
  12. Have you decided which day yet?
  13. Our future is uncertain around 13th/14th but if I/we are around then will by up for joining in.
  14. Now makes 12 14 of us for lunch. Any others? Marilyn & Derek Sharon & Kerry Carol & Chris Richard and Jackie Helen & Phil Danielle & Dean. Lesley & Stephen
  15. Now makes 10 of us for lunch Marilyn & Derek Sharon & Kerry Carol & Chris Richard and Jackie Helen & Phil
  16. I believe there are now only 8 wanting lunch. As I have told the Bell there would be aprox 25 diners, I have overestimated a little! I will be calling the Bell to confirm numbers on Sunday 10th, I think its fair to allow them time to fill the places we are not taking. Please let me know if you have booked and paid a deposit ASAP. Thanks for your co-operation.
  17. Updated list here. I hope there will be a few more joining us for lunch as I have told the Bell there will be 20 - 25 of us. Marilyn & Derek Sharon & Kerry Carol & Chris Richard and Jackie
  18. I should be there. Perhaps in the kit, now I have many layers of thermals!!!
  19. I had a similar problem with my Mazda 6. Made a new earth from the light cluster and I was flashing again!!!
  20. I had a similar problem, press the horn button and a fuse went pop. Turned out it was one of the live contacts on the back of the horn making contact with the steering column in the centre of the steering wheel causing a short. Remedy was to put a plastic cap over the back of the horn switch and grind 2mm from the end of the column. Hope this helps.
  21. Please find the menu for Sunday Lunch attached. If you could let me know your choices I will pass onto the Bell. Classic Car Run 28.04.19a.pdf
  22. Great idea, especially for us retirees, who are looking for things to do. BUT do we get penalised for having too much time!!! You have a PM Neil. Thanks for organising
