    England V Portugal

Watched the whole thing....the first half wasn't great - for either team. We were brilliant playing for 60 minutes, a man down and not conceding a goal! It proved that England can up their game when needed - just a pity it took a sending off to have that effect Sven developed the team - just some of the on pitch tactics were questionable. Feel it for Becks!!! e
  2. Hi I have build-up/lay-up cover from Adrian Flux and for about £20 they'll insure it for the day of the test (MoT or SVA). e

    Insurance

Hi I'm with Arian Flux - currently on Buildup/lay over cover (fire theft and accidents) and to cover a trip to MOT or SVA they'll charge me £21, which seems ok to me as I've only paid £84 for the year e

    Pinto Into Superspec

Hi Yeah I agree with Will - I've not see a lower cross member on the superspec chassis - only a top one. The superspec is a different chassis to the 2B's (or it always used to be). Odd e

    Super Spec

Hi, and welcome. I'm a superspec builder myself and to be honest the only thing I'd ever done was change brake pads and oil. Its amazing how fast you can learn to do new things and the folks on this site are... well lets face it "Kitcar Gods" !!! There hasn't been a question I havent been able to answer on here! (thanks everyone) RH kits are not simple bolt-together jobs like caterhams, but they will give you greater satisfaction, because a lot of your build is done by you, and the finished cars are all subtly unique. Yep I've sworn at thing and lost my temper with RH  , but I'm almost ready for the SVA now - hopefully on the road for the summer and it really has been worth it. The spec is an easier kit than the 2b's - because there is more provided and no donor but it still is a lot of work. So if you think you can learn quick, ask lots of questions on 'tinternet, stick with the build that can last 1 -3 years.... go for it! One of the best decision I've made in a looong while. Cheers e

    Sva Tomorrow At Chelmsford!

fingers crossed for ya dude e
  9. Hi I hadn't realised that the 05 'specs were not rolling chassis There should be a small L bracket that fits on the rear arm of the wishbone. There a close up in JUNE pictures on my site (www.super-spec.com). This was how RH assembled the rolling chassis 'specs, like mine and wills. Hope it helps. Good luck e

    Network Routers

Hi Bill Dont know too much about the Belkin, but a lot of wireless point of access and routers have built in security that involves various types of encryption. There should be a way of accessing the devices setup (could be software supplied or via internet explorer). Then there should be options about the configuration including security. Most of this gear will default to none, so its a case of switching it on, I think this device will have either 64- or 128-bit WEP encryption (or both). Choose one, setup a key and make a note of it. You probably will then have to setup your wifi adaptors on your PC(s) with the same encryption and using that key you made a note of..... there ya go... clear as mud e

    F1 Starts Again.

Good race - and go Alonso! Great move out of the last pit stop:) Quali was better, but I wasn't too keen on the last part. And I think the environmentalists may have something to say about burning off fuel to get a faster lap.... plus how is that making it cheaper? Much sooner have the final bit the same as the first two bits, More flying laps that way.... But its started off promising e

    Ready For Test.........

Hi On the mirror question.... do they HAVE to rotate? I ask because of this entry in the SVA manula: NOTE: This criteria (item c) does not apply to a mirror •which does not protrude beyond the extreme outer edge of the vehicle (discounting the mirrors), and Item C is the bit about rotating etc. These mirrors look like they are within the extreme outer edge of the vehicle... or am i reading this wrong ? e

    Ball-joints....

Hi guys, time to sound dumb again (so whats new!) Took a look at steering alignment over the weekend and took a spanner to the push rod ball-joint nut that connects to the front upright. The nut turned and so did the threaded bit that comes out of the joint :boohoo: :boohoo: The other side is fine, and undoes easily enough. So the question is... once I take a nut splitter to the Nyloc (that sounds painful) and have the thing free, will the push-rod ball-joint need replacing? If so does any superspecer know what these things are off ????? cheers e

    Membership

HI ...adding to the paypal thing, You can download their shopping solutions (some of which are free) for adding into a website, which would allow you to have a shopping cart and therefore be able to pull data straight off and import into any database you use for membership details and if you're a verified customer the funds go straight into your (the clubs) bank. Personally as a lot of our club is via the web, I think this would be a worthwhile addition..and give folk choice... just my two-penneth.... Now I must go and find my cheque book !! and do the whole envelope, form and stamp thing too e
  16. Hi I've bought them for my super spec - they fit, but like I said they are a little low. I'm going to mount them on some 1x1(ish) box section. They have runners, which are quite a bit shorter than those on the original recaro in the spec, so fabricating a brackety thing should be ok. Also the slots dont line up for the hjarness without it touching - I think I read somewhere that the SVA man dont like that, but you can always invert where the harness is mounted and have them come through the boot ... or wait til after SVA like I'm gonna.... I measured centres of the mounting holes at 49cm, and the inner edge of the floor pan holes are 48cm with outer edge 51(ish) - they'll have to be mounted with the tilt adjuster against the tunnel as it doesn't seem to want to go in with it on the outside (but maybe I need to push a little harder ? ) No green I'm afraid!!! e
  17. Hi Chaps and Chapesses I saw these in Makro and thought I'd share with the group. Offer ends next Tuesday, but they seem pretty good - an Inch lower than the recaro's that came in the spec, so a bit of modification is needed, but at £99+vat a pair thats gotta be good e

    Exhaust Warning

Hi I know I'm not on the road yet, but I'd go along with Chris: its their look out! But if you're that worried about it why not use silicon heat wrap around the pipe up to the silencer/cat ? Just a thought ..... e

    Super Spec For Sale

Will I agree with ya, but I'm thinking more from an insurance point of view, currently I have build up cover of 8K, but I know I wont be able to replace it for that value once its finished, should anything ever happen to it. And Flux have said "you need to get it valued" e

    My Hood Is Dead!

Mebbe you could buy that spec thats on ebay (see other thread) ?? Glad the missus is ok tho!!! e

    Super Spec For Sale

So we've spent £7K after VAT on these kits.... a year or so building, probably more money during the build (I know I have)..... RH are selling "advanced rolling chassis" for about £10K +VAT... the question is: How much are they worth once we've built 'em, and how do we get them valued? Cos the price that this on is at at the mo is well below te original it price. e

    Wiper Assembly

Hi, its the arm from the motor, it just catches one of the pivots on its way round, but I greased it up and it a lot less noticable at the mo.... Not conviced about the sweep of the wipers tho, AND I extended the rotor arm as per other threads, but maybe not enough, tho' I only just managed to get the new longer version on Still I'm away off the SVA at the mo, as I'm saving up for alternative instruments and am in the process of making alterations to the dash.... cheers e
