S7 Vallance Removal

Hi I have a sierra based s7 so any s7 owners or anyone else out there who can tell me if the front Vallance if I'm calling it right (the panel the windscreen sits on ) just unbolts from the three bolts each side where your knees are and then lifts off or is there more to it

hi its called the scuttle panel i think and on my s7 its welded on i do beleive some was bolted for ease of removal but i think its down to the person who built the car originaly hth

As biksz says, all down to the original builder, though mines also welded.

Some were bolted on. Some were factory welded on. The bolted ones made building a lot easier, particularly the dash electrics.

My S3 has bolt on scuttle but also supports pedal box and steering support plus breather tank fuse box ECU and EDIS

Taking this off ( which I am considering for painting) will be a longish job

My sierra 3a has studs along the sides plus studs across the front and uses nuts to hold into place. Once nuts removed it's quite easy to lift on and off. The pedal box cover needs removing first though and the wiper wiring disconnecting.
