Sun Visor/shield In Robin Hood

Each time the sun has shone (remember that?) I have taken my hoodie out for a short spin.

With the sun being low in the sky I have occasionally had trouble seeing directly ahead.

I would like some hinged 'sun shields' and have been tempted by these on ebay r.ebay.com/yX4wFY

has anyone any experience or advise on this please?

I already have sunglasses and a 'cap' but the wind takes it off!

Thanks

Get a set of TEPS II sunglasses from UK sports eyewear

http://www.uksportseyewear.co.uk/product.php/38/kit-car-glasses-biker-glasses

They do loads of different lenses for them too - clear, amber, Iridium Red, Polarised.

I bought a pair of these last year they are good. Can be worn as glasses or wrap around goggles and cheaper than your sun visors :D

Dixon eyewear is the preferred wear down here amongst SKCC members and I carry a couple of different lenses clear and grey. Very easy to change and at least I know my eyes are safe. In answer to Bob's question about driving directly into low sunlight, they still can't cope with that and I have found that a tight fitting cap in the sunshine stays on alright. Also protects the ever widening runway on the top of my head!!!

I have similar sunglass/goggles as above but from ebay http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/RAYZOR-UV400-2n1-CYCLING-MTB-SUNGLASSES-GOGGLES-RRP-119-/190554965905?pt=UK_SportingGoods_SportsSunglasses_SM&hash=item2c5df60791 which are a bit cheaper :)

The visors seem rather expensive to me. I'd make my own http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/5mm-Black-Acrylic-perspex-plastic-sheet-420-X-297-A3-/260974472485?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_3&hash=item3cc34a6d25 a lot cheaper at ~£5

I reckon though that you will still have a problem though as the windscreen is pretty small so if you have a visor it is going to cover too much.

I normally wear a baseball hat with a hood to hold it on. If the suns too bright i just tip my head forward.

Ok, I admit it, i like to wear a helmet.

When driving.

If you too can bring yourself to wear a helmet ( while driving) there are some available that have an internal sun visor that will help immensely. These visors are usually out of site for normal driving but can be drawn down when you need them. It also means your cap isn't blown off and your eardrums remain intact because it reduces the noise from the side exhaust. Colour of the helmet is important, you don't want to look like the Stig, because some say " he's never driven a proper Pinto engined car"

So on that bomb shell, goodnight.

Just spoken to Mike at UK Sports eyewear and he's extended an old 20% discount code to the end of this month (Sept). So if anyone was thinking of buying.....

Code is skcc2014.

(no link just a satisfied customer)
