Route more or less as posted, the good roads don't generally have cameras

Here is a possible more detailed route for Sunday and Monday :-

 

Helensburgh- A814- Arrochar - Inveraray - A819 North -A85- Clifton - A82 - Glencoe - possible loch Leven loop depending on time for lunch at Onich Hotel - Fort William -A830- Mallaig- A830 back - A82 -A87 Shiel Bridge -Glenelg ferry -Skye

 

Jolly round Skye - applecross - same route round coast to Kinlochewe petrol station then left onto A832 towards Gairloch -poolewe - round to Dundonnell join A835 -Inverness

Apologies to all for the scant details this year, work and family have taken priority. The route will be confirmed ASAP with a few scenic detours planned along the way, rest assured the fuel and lunch stops are all researched and plotted.

This is it boys!

 

Day 1:

Depart J29a M1 8.30am

Depart Ferrybridge 9am

Depart Boroughbridge YO51 9HS 10am after food and fuel if required.

Then its Ripon, Hawes, Kendal and finally Keswick for lunch following the A591 for Mark Little who wants to tag along for a run-he can chat with us over lunch etc etc, I'd expect to be near Kendal by 12 and at Keswick for 1, Fuel at CA12 4JP.

Thursby, Dumfries, Kilmarnock (fuel stop again), Dunlop, Cardross and finally Helensburgh G84 8ES.

 

Day 2:

Helensburgh, Garelochhead, Monevechadan (Near the Rest and be Thankful), Lochgilphead, 56.268078, -5.252236, Tyndrum FK20 8RY (The Green Welly) for fuel and possibly lunch.

Kinclochleven (other potential lunch stop), Fort William (fuel-none until Skye), Glenelg ferry, Dunollie hotel IV49 9AE.

 

Day 3:

Dunollie hotel, Dunvegan, Uig, Quiraing and back to the hotel for breakfast (3hrs 21mins, 122 miles around the island) THIS SECTION IS OPTIONAL.

 

Dunollie, Plockton, Applecross (Long lunch 2hr minimum), Gairloch, Dundonnell, Inverness Hotel IV2 3BW.

 

Day 4:

Hotel, Dallas (not the Texas one!), Glenfiddich distillery AB55 4DH, Tomintoul, Braemar (fuel), Aberfeldy, Pool of Muckhart, Dunfermline hotel KY11 8EX.

 

Day 5:

Dunfermline, Bellingham, Hexham, Eggleston, Reeth, Boroughbridge YO51 9HS (It will end where it all started before we disperse).
