Yes but not as a car just scrap metal remove number plates and vin plate and keep along with the V5 and keep it on SORN the DVLA will scrap it when you send your documents after IVA.

Has it changed since we scrapped our Donor? We filled out a section on the V5 which declared self scrapping -- did this to avoid repeated SORN's ( for which we had been fined for not renewing after first SORN )

Am i right in thinking that we dont have to keep renewing sorn now, just seem to remember seeing some thing like that when the tax disc was ended.

Well at least not having to re-sorn is a bonus, got done loads of cash because I forgot & " We don't automatically send reminders, Sir." No we just automatically send a big fine once you are 2 weeks over-due.

You can get it taken to an authorised treatment facility who will give you a certificate of destruction. Then come IVA you send them a photocopy/picture of the V5/logbook and the Cert of Destruction. That's what I did with my donor and had no issues. Plus don't have the hassle of making sure a car is always sorned or risk any fines later on if the law changes again etc
