That would be good to see. I don't think its worth selling to be honest unless its the wrong cam for your engine. I'm hoping its a strip, inspect, New bearings and polish crank surfaces,then a rebuild and re time cam and ignition. And on your way again.

That receipt is just a bottom end rebuild, doesn't mention cam at all.

A look at the date of invoice is 2005. And a quick search on net suggests no longer trading.

That was 11 years ago and no sign of labour.

No idea who built it up though so could have been done by anyone.

At the price for the Pistons is what it is, them and the rods were either standard or worse still second hand.

Each piston would cost that for specials.

What are we thinking guys? I'm thinking a complete strip and rebuild top and bottom is a pricey adventure. But you end up with a known factor. Must of course remember its not my money or wife!!

I'd still say its cheaper than a zetec transplant.

Lots cheaper than Zetec but I would go for quick but safe repair and save up for Zetec or similar lighter much quieter and more reliable more moder type of engine.

I don't know anyone who could over haul it, so shall we take it out, strip it and see what it needs then if you know anyone who can do what is necessary, we can take it to them?

Like a Duratec and RX8 6speed box.

 

All alloy,and intake exhaust on same side as pinto, box is about same size as type 9 too.

 

And yes, I'm only messing..currently searching for machine Shops close by to us both.

Strip, inspect and repair imo. If it's just spun a shell most parts should be reusable.

I will have to bite the bullet, and pay what is needed to sort it, 'cos its no use at the moment like it is.
