Portmeirion

Can anyone confirm this rumour that I have heard ... or squash it, as nonsense, please.

I would like to revisit Portmeirion - haven't visited the village since the 70's - and have heard that entry is free if you turn up in a 'seven'. OK I drive a Robin Hood but it's as close as I can get to a 'seven'!

Intend to be around that area in August ... just trying to plan ahead.

Pin stripe suit, and bowler hat a must.

It might not get you in, but you would look the part.

Does your other half look like Diana Rig though.

Hope not.

Visited Portmeirion last year -- we went in Florin -- no special treatment received -- but had a wonderful Sunday lunch, silver service for 2 & just over £40.

Will be going back ASAP.

Sounds highly unlikely. I got an annual pass and I've never seen anything in the literature to say you get in free in a Seven. There's precious little parking in the village if you're staying there and as a day visitor you park up and walk in so it would be difficult to apply in practice anyway.

Day admission is a tenner - annual pass is top value at £20
