Clutch Plate Replacement

Hi all,

First time of posting and hope someone can help - I'm looking for a new clutch plate for my early Robin Hood and can't find one anywhere.

Problem its a Ford Type 9 gearbox mated to a Vauxhall C20XE (Red top) engine.

The gearbox shaft is 25mm diameter, with 23 splines, and the clutch plate diameter is 228mm (could use a 230mm but no bigger).

Anyone had this probelm before, any suggestions or suppliers I could try would be appreciated.

Hi Michael,

Quite a few folks have fitted Vauxhall engines in the past so hopefully someone will be able to tell you exactly what you need.

Meanwhile, are there any part No.s on the original that might give a clue?

A common way to do this is to drill and tap the flywheel to take the standard sierra pressure plate and clutch plate.

Hi you could try reconditioned plates and flywheels i used a place in leeds but i`m sure that theres someone near you that will do the same thing i have included this website so you get an idea 

CG Motorsport - Performance Clutch Specialists they refurace the flywheel on all flywheels and if its a duel mass again surface and new tension springs they aldo will resuface you original clutch plate so its all like new.

The plate you want is from a VW Sharan/Ford Galaxy V6

Here's a 2 part kit on eBay for not a lot of money, you don't need the pressure plate for your set up

I had this exact setup. I got mine from Helix, they do a bespoke clutch plate, and a heavy duty pressure plate as a kit.
