  1. Hi has anyone had a half roof made and if so by who and how much. I've tried soft bits for kits but they only make ones for zero not 2b and s7 models Pics would be nice too !!
  2. Just a point dan but I have the software and leads to re do weber alpha. ! I know webers chief developer really well !
  3. hi im running GBS plenum standard injectors and standard GBS exhaust and GT manifold on weber alpha system in my S7 and it made 178bhp on webers own rolling road are you using the fuel reg on your set up cos GBS say not to but my car runs miles better with it connected 40bhp at flywheel is quite a lot to be down !!
  4. Hi your right on the early days with the jiggle pin but hat was old pintos etc modern thermos dont have them also its not a raceline rail his using its a retroford item which does have a bypass but looks like in pic its not being used !! and your 100% right on water pump rotation !!! and your pic is 100% spot on for what his got .
  5. ok please talk me through this !! if i jack up the front of the car where am i pushing or pulling as i will 100% check this tomorrow
  6. yes the thermo fits with the spring part inside the housing that you bolt to the back of the engine All you should see when you take off the waterail is the front of the thermo and a black rubber sealing ring that sits inside the waterail if you need any more help or details pls ask
  7. Also last but not least on the opposite end /side of the bit that bolts to the head does it have a pipe sticking out of it with a capped off end (maybe a bolt screwed in ) cos that's the bypass and should be plumbed into heater if fitted or into bottom rad hose
  8. Also don't drill the thermo as even a couple of hole 3mm in size will cause it to run to cold 70-80c when on a fast run eg motorway as the stat can't do it job properly. Zetecs like and need 95-110c temps unlike old pintos etc I run exactly the same water rail and all I've done is put an expan bottle from rad cap and it now sits at 95c all day everyday
  9. Hi your thermo is the wrong way around. !! The spring goes inside the large part
  10. Hi I also have a mk3 mono and I've not had this problem ????? But it seems this is deff something I need to look into . Maybe I've just been lucky and it's not happened yet. So do I just fit a flat bar across front to prevent this starting ???
  11. Hi I've fitted a garage defender from B and Q our row of garages got targeted about a year or so ago 15 done in one night and mine was the only one they could not open.
  12. Hi is that not a sign of a failed rad cap ?
  13. Just a quick thing but copper pipe should not be used in fuel lines the Impact of Ethanol Blended Petrol eats it way through it Permitted ethanol content in petrol is 5% which is to rise to 10% in 2014.. However we are led to believe supermarket fuels may already have as much as 10% ... That was a comment made in car mechanics magazine after a 2 issue article on the subject
  14. Hi is this a regular meeting ? If so can I have the details please thanks

    Cam Timing

Ok silly question but what timing marks are you using !! I know it's a silly question but some times you have to start at the basics.!! Everyone has a blond moment at some point .

    Coil Pack

I don't think a modern coil needs an earth as such but a riveted fire wall will be fine. Mines bolted to a removable panel that' has a rubber trim around it and I've had no problems at all but maybe someone knows different??

    Coil Pack

No I have done exactly the same thing and car runs perfect Bear in mind like me it's prob bolted to a metal L bracket to a metal bulkhead !!!
  18. I have a sierra based s7 and wish to check the trailing arm bushes but on inspection the outer arm bolts are inside the chassis !! Is there a way to check them from inside the car or do I have to take the whole beam off just to check these. I'd thought I'd ask before I pull seats carpets etc out just to find I still can't get to them !!!
  19. Sorry how do you mean how far apart wishbones are ??
  20. Yep 100% transit drop link
  21. Sorry supposed to say stretch and over stretch !!! Blond moment !!
  22. Ok after having a look at the car (sierra hubs) the top and bottom ball joints are directly above one another So I take it one of the first things to do is unwind the tie rods to push the bottom ball joint forward about an inch and see if that makes a difference !!
  23. No no no. !!! Never tighten then slacken ARP bolts. All you do is use the lube that comes with them then tighten to 25lb ARP bolts shrink in use if you over tighten them they will over stretch and potentially snap!! The instructions clearly say tighten once ONLY
  24. Please pm me if you get some more done !!
