  2. Well its my 1st Mot as new owner and ive got a list!! Niggley dash issues, but of welding on steering rack which would explain vibration when turning and dreaded emmisions running rich. Any ideas about running rich (rover super spec engine)
  3. Welcome Red Robin, was this the SS turbo that was for sale in Dunster via ebay, looked very nice and should be well put together if professionally built as the advert said. Theres not many of us down in Devon/Cornwall Sorry I cant help with your question, Alan is our Super Spec guru!!

    Exmo Front Struts?

The error means his inbox is full, maybe someone lives close or has a phone number or email address
  5. Thanks for info, I saw it on a kit car forum on Facebook, thought it looked a bit dubious but the bloke swore by it (or maybe swore at it!! )
  6. Has anyone used one of these instead of a jack, I've heard they're quite good for lifting front or rear of car. https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Motorcycle-Motorbike-Bike-ATV-Jack-Lift-Hoist-680-kg-1500LB-Hydraulic-Lifter-New-/263736069195
  7. Thanks andy for the info, my old one was secured on front cross member and the side of the sump. Your sounds a better idea, how are the support wings attached to the guard, rivets or bolts? I ve just got my self a rivnut gun so going to try out on the guard build!!

    Led Wiring

Look at the usb charger first or ideally disconnect it so you take it out of the equation
  9. Andy looking at your sump guard have you got the "wings" attached to the tubular frame and is the rear attached to anything?
  10. Well it was just the filter after all, after a good clean up and thorough check all is well, smaller filter fitted which now sits about level or maybe a smidge higher than the bottom of sump. I have a little over 3 inches ground clearance now. Car is not going ANYWHERE till I get a new sump guard sorted!!
  11. Thanks Andy ive got a shorter one but will check out the one your using
  12. Phew just measured mine and its 12cms so thats one thing less to worry about. It does look like it was just the oil filter as can't see any cracks in sump but the car is covered with oil underneath
  13. Thanks wanderer, was this fitted as standard or have you changed it?
  14. Funny thing is I do have a sump guard but it was in the boot at the time. I had only refitted it a couple of days ago but obviously hadn't tightened it up enough because during the trip across Exmoor it had worked loose and one of the other drivers pointed out I had "something flapping" under the car so I stopped and took it off (didn't have the bolts to refit) note to self "carry more bits n bobs" The old filter did stick below the sump and I have a shorter one to fit, was on my to do list. On a side note ive read a couple of old posts about Super Spec sump and the difference in depth, as my engine was destined for a 420 it should have the shallower sump but there was another post about the engines being destined for abroad so they had the deeper sumps, what depth are your Alan/Andy. P.s like your sump gaurd Andy may redesign mine using treadplate . P.P.S This particular speed hump is known about by locals because every car that stopped to ask if we were ok said I suppose you hit the speed hump. I went over 1st one ok but the 2nd one was in shadow and not well marked and the wheels straddled it which meant the sump didn't.
  15. An ignominious end to the day after a cracking day out with Minehead Motor Club at the Lyn Valley Show. Looks like its just the oil filter that got whacked, fingers crossed
  16. Could it be sucking in air, maybe gasket or something gone or going . Dont have a zetec but the kazoo sound was made by sucking/blowing air over something
  17. I did use the link icon on the Facebook page but as I said maybe you need to be a member of the group. We got there in the end anyway
