Great night out. Good to see everyone. Thanks to Kerry for organising.
-
We don't meet in December because we meet on the last Wednesday of the month so next one will be the end of January.
-
6.5" and 7" diffs have a single long bolt going from side to side across the top. 7.5" has 2 separate bolts.
The sizes refer to the crownwheel diameter.
-
Compression test would be the first thing I'd try.

Give Dave at Dampertech a call.

I'll keep my thoughts to myself seeing as someone's trying to sell one
Don't hold back!!
My view is they made a kit car that was even less desirable than the donor vehicle.

I've been made aware of a Kaig for sale but have very few details other than it was build by Robin Hood from an MG Metro donor and was the promo vehicle for their launch.
If anyone is interested, message me and I'll pass your details on.

Next Wednesday (24th) , 7PM onwards, Malt Shovel Pub, Coventry Road, Nr Stonebridge, Coventry, CV7 7HL
Entrance to the pub car park is off the A452 Chester Road heading North 50 yards from the island.
If you've just got your MOT and possibly been remapped, I expect to see you in in it......
Just saying!

We've got 8 club members in Worcs, could well be one of them.

Richy, pate, roast turkey, Christmas pudding.
Jackie, beetroot and red onion tarte, roast turkey, cheese slate.
Thanks

Stick a post in the wanted section, hopefully someone will have something suitable.

Can't you swap the rose joint and adjuster for a rose joint with a female threaded end. It won't be as easy to adjust but it's not like you're adjusting it regularly.
-
Most people SORN their cars over the winter, I'm pretty sure someone could lend you a set for the test. What width and ET are the current wheels and how wide are the tyres?
-
I like wiring but even I wouldn't make a harness from scratch. You need to be a special kind of masochist to want to do it when they're available off the shelf for not a lot of money.
-
There shouldn't be any relays on the side lights and they should be battery fed, not ignition (so they can be left on for parking).
What harness do you have?

Thanks gents I have a full set of 5 gauges, the pic was just an example. I had wanted to place all the instruments in the centre so some of them would not be in the untested zone. What about mounting them on a alloy plate and recessing this into the dash so that the bezels where flush with the dash surface would that work
Steve D
Flush would be OK. If the bezels protrude less than 3.2mm, the edges just need to be blunted rather than a 2.5mm radius that is required if the protrusion is more than 3.2mm

Thanks Al, I'll pm you later and try and sort something out.

Still looking. Would consider a pair if someone has them and doesn't want to split them.
Would also consider borrowing one, you can have it back afterwards and I can work out a deal to make it worth your while.

How much for the rug and the Gilbows? Can you deliver?

That's a nice solution.
-
Your driveshafts look to have the boots with an integral metal can which is crimped around the whole joint. These are no longer available.
You'll need to cut just the old rubber off then use a universal type boot instead (ideally the stretchy type that will fit without dismantling the joint.
Have a read of this thread and it should make more sense:
